COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Error! Ingredienser: Vann, byggmalt, sukker, humle, gjær, Brettanomyces, cascara.

Bottled. Pours hazy brown with a huge beige head. Aroma of red berries, funky notes and ripe fruit. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up being more dry and a little bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and average carbonation. A nice brew indeed.

[Notes from blind tasting:
Deep red to brown cloudy body with a very large beige head that sticks to the glass. Strong and somewhat confusing aroma: I get lots of overripe red berries, overripe fruits, and caramel, but also some funkiness. Strong flavour that follows the aroma. I’m not sure if the funk is supposed to be there or if some wild yeast has found its way into this bottle, but either way it works very well, so I assume it belongs there. Moderate sweet taste with a light sourness. Mid-bodied, smooth palate, soft carbonation. I really have no idea what style this beer is: a too sweet and too alcoholic Flemish red? A caramelly fruit beer? This proves that I need to do more blind tasting!

alteregoo (1495) - Kalisz, POLAND - APR 1, 2017
Ciekawie i intrygująco. W smaku sporo słodyczy, kandyzowanych i suszonych owoców, miodu spadziowego, cała masa fenoli - kolorowy pieprz, zioła, ale i stary chmiel, na finiszu wyraźna stajnia. Goryczka średnia, pikantna, ziołowo kawowa, nieznacznie rozgrzewający alkohol, średnie do wysokiego, drobne wysycenie, dość pełne, lepkie w odczuciu.
Coś jakby do tradycyjnego BDSA dolać odrobinę intensywnego lambica - dziwne i fascynujące zarazem, bez wątpienia specyficzne...

750 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.5%. Dark brown colour, large off-white to beige head. Aroma of cascara (coffee cherry tea) and redcurrants, also brown sugar, mild spices and hints of farmhouse and tobacco. The flavour is medium sweet with strong notes of brown sugar, also cascara and mild spices, moderate hops. Pretty solid beer.

Bottle enjoyed at home
Pours dark brown with a thick creamy light tanned head. Smell of dark fruits, cascara, dark malts and prunes. Heavy sweet, burnt sugar, fruity flavors, cascara, dried fruits, hints of toast. Moderate bitter finish. All in all quite nice, but i miss something here. Maybe some more complexity and richness. I find it too sweet and it’s a bit straight forward, and the cascara doesn’t bring much to the table. Even if i have some small complaints here, it’s a good beer for sure

(Rating #7257)
