Bottle from Stockmann in Tallinn (a lovely 2.99!). Pours a mahogany black with a very persistent but not huge dark beige head leaving some lacing. The aroma is intoxicating: strong vinous notes(plum liqueur?) mix with sweet chocolate and cocoa, and roastiness beneath. Some grassy hops seem to be lurking there too. Very mild black bread sourness. Smooth texture with thin, mellow carbonation going hand in hand with the nice finishing bitterness and the slight alcoholic warmth. It is warming, but the alcohol is well integrated in the whole. Tastes chocolaty and plummy, some rhum and/or sherry, liqorice. Syrupy but not really sticky. Very-very nice! I like it much more than the Cherry Port BA version - but Im no big fan of overly winey stouts.

330ml bottle from Saveur-Biere.fr. Pours pitch black with a promising rich & complex aroma. Taste is thick, viscous, roasty, plummy and smooth. A sumptuous Imperial Stout.

Dick und dunkel, etwas schwer auf der Zunge. Dafr angenehm in Kaffee, Rstmalzen und Schokolade. Nicht ganz fr jemand, der es gern hell gat, aber due Schwere und Komplexitt berzeugen durchaus.

Draft at Row 34 Boston, 18 July 2015. Pitch black color with an oily sheen on top the liquid. Aroma is heavy on dark fruit, licorice, and light charred grain.

I thought the texture would be oily after I saw the sheen on the top but it wasnt, more charred grain then any other nuance. However, licorice, dark chocolate, plum and raisin are found. Slight warming after the sip with only mild alcohol noticeable. Body is on the larger side of medium. This may do better with some time to mellow out but even as is, I feel its slightly above average. Nice way to round out a night of drinking.

0.33L bottle. Light smoke, burned bread aroma. Old motor oil colour. Small brown foam on top, disappears for few second. Overcooked sugar, over roasted bread, roasted malt, raisin, smoke, light vanilla, dark chocolate coming at finish. Very good. Hot chocolate mouthfeel.

Anise and coffee in the aroma. Thick mouth feel, could perhaps be a bit smoother. Lots of roasted flavors, coffee. Think this bottle is a bit young, tastes a bit rough, like it needs to be rounded off. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle pours oily viscous black brown with small dark brown head. Nose is big on roast, ashy chocolate, dark fruit, plum, anise. Thick creamy mouthfeel. Palate continues the flavors from the nose with tons of charred chocolate and burned ashy cacao, also lots of Euro stout character with big dark fruity notes. Bold. Really good.
