COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Botella. Color negro opaco. Poca espuma.

At ACBF. Lightly lacing, yellowish beige, medium thick head over an opaque black beer. Aroma of walnuts, bitter unsugared chocolate, dry tree leaves, old raisins, black tea, pear syrup, butterscotch. Candied date sweetness and some dried meat-like umami in the mouth, soft carbonation, nutty and toffeeish malt body, thick and viscous but not overly heavy and still highly drinkable also thanks to the velvety effect of the oatmeal; toasted and bitter chocolatey malt finish with herbal, almost tea-ish and lightly piney hop bitterness and long, warm, gin-like alcohol. Accomplished enough but nothing compared to that 3 Bean stout tasted just before it.

F: thin, brown, quick gone. C: dark, opaque. A: typical for IS, roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, cocoa, dark fruits, hint of Porto wine. T: sampled from bottle at ACBF 2017, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, dried fruits, hint of red wine, full body, low to medium carbonation, very good.

ACBF 2017. Thank you for sharing kraddel, tderoeck, Travlr & friends. Sampled 330 ml. bottle. Black, creamy tanned head. Nose is far too umami for me, roasted, licorice & peated even. Taste is peated soy sauce, licorice, charcoal, roast, molasses, soy sauce. Well made but not my style. Body is thick soy sauce molasses. I quite liked the Cherry Port BA edition which I tried prior to this one, seems like there the barrel covered all the aspects of the base beer.

Zlotta (3210) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - MAR 4, 2017
Sampled from tap at ACBF 2017. Pitch black with a beige head. Sweetish, moderately roasty-malty aroma of milk chocolate, coffee, nougat and some hazelnut. Rather sweet, moderately roasty-malty taste of milk chocolate, coffee, nougat, hazelnut and some licorice, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly dry finish. Almost full-bodied, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2017 Aroomis domineerivad kuivatatud ploomid/datlid, midagi häirivat, samas muudkui kiskus nuusutama. Mõnusalt karamelline, tummine maitse paraja karboniseeritusega. Iga kell valmis uueks pudeliks, hindki päris mõistlik.

MartR (353) - Aespa, ESTONIA - MAR 1, 2017
Looks pitch black with a modest light brown head. Aroma brings out sweet roasted malts and chinook hops. Thick silky palate with roasted malts and warming alcohol leading the taste. Sweet oats, coffee and licorise in flavor. Some hops appear in the aftertaste. Everything is nicely rounded up, which all together makes a really complex and great taste bouquet.

Bosskie (882) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 17, 2017
Pitch black, almost no head. Smell is freshly ground coffee, chocolate, mocca. Hint of honey and toffee, nuts, like peanut butter and in the end a light bitter sourness. Taste is Full and oily and warming. Coffee bitterness and fire with subtle ash. Nice fizz. Finish is pine and a hint of bitter chocolate.

Aroma of roasted malts and cherries. Taste is sweet, roasted with strong alcohol burn. Nothing special
