This double IPA is copper colored and bitter, but balanced by the malty flavors. The 20% rye malt gives this beer a nice bite which helps bring the massive hops together.
Malts: pale malt, caramel malts, rye malt, oats. Hops: Simcoe, Chinook, Amarillo. Aroma: piney, resinous hops, with notes of fresh fruit, spice and caramel malt. Food pairings: salty and fried foods, grilled red meat and Indian curry.

Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

CBC, 2013. Hazy orange amber with a small off white head. Hoppy nose of resin, spruce, citrus. Some caramel and bready notes. Rich malty flavor, medium sweet, very hoppy, with a smooth, creamy texture and a dry, lingering bitter finish. Intense, very enjoyable.

Temptation (257) - - APR 29, 2013
Magnificent beer. Amber color with delicate reddish tones, white and reasonable lasting head, which leaves a deeply marked and consistent lace. Hoppy and complex aroma with traces of malts difficult to identify. Maybe bread, honey or wood. The palate is excellent, perfectly balanced and full, hoppy as well. The development is progressive, regular and longlasting, finishing in a dry and astringent final. High bodied and medium carbonated. Great.

Excellent beer. Lots of great hops and great malt character with sweetness balancing the strong bitter hopping. Pretty looks. Very good.

Really enjoyed this one. Kind of oily texture, much more complex and heavy bitterness than the galaxy ipa. The aftertaste stings with alcohol, and it smells and tastes more of grain and bread.

UPDATED: MAR 13, 2015 330ml bottle (Kaisla, Helsinki) (5:3:5:3:10=2.6)
Smells of crystal malt-like mashiness, a bit stodgy. Cloudy orange. Swimming pool taste, and mashy malts. Grassy hops. Finish is grassy too. Basically a bit messy. The bloody barmaid swirled abd poured all the yeast into the glass, perhaps that spoilt the taste. The thing is, I don’t want to have it again to test that hypothesis. Definitely messy, and soapy later. Gets better when you get used to the mess, but still not good. Shame, I like rye.

Acidic palate. Perfumey taste. Harsh. Smells a bit better, just an aggressive grapefruity modern IPA.

Support the locals! This one's good. Lervig's American boss apparently knows what he's doing. Good IPA :-) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nosefeel has citrus fruits, and some sweetness as well. Appearance is hazy yellow with thick head, with nice lacing. Main taste has sweet qualitys, aftertaste brings the bitterness but overall slightly more on the sweet side.

A bit hazy, orangeish yellow beer with a foamy head. Sweet aroma has caramel malts, fruits and citrus. Flavour also sweet with malts and fruity hoppiness and some rye too. Quite sweet brew this one.

Bottle. Orange hazy. Excellent maltyness on nose, with piney/citrus/fresh fruity hops. Body is medium, steady, dipa- like. Loads of good malt, caramel, bitter with a nice punch of piney grassy herbal hops. The maltiness is quite thick actually, hard to say what the rye’s contribution is. Very nice dipa from a brewery I previously didn’t think much of. A bit hot perhaps, otherwise great.
