COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fyldig, rik smak fra ristede karamellmalter, utsøkt britisk humle og rosiner - ingredienser som sammen med vann og gjær også skaper den rødlige gløden og det gyldne skummet. Fyr i peisen, rull ut bjørneskinnet, hell i glasset. La Lervig Winter Ale med sine 8,3 alkoholprosenter varme opp vinterkvelden.

tfredvik (2040) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 4, 2012
Clear, medium brown/copper body with an ok sized light-brown head. The head reduces in size quickly, but once settled the head never disappears, and it laces the glass well. The malty, roasted aroma is a bit disappointing: I’d expected more raisins. Of course there are raisins and other dark dried fruits here, but equally obvious are spices and alcohol. The taste is medium sweet with a medium bitter finish. Intense sweet caramel flavour, far more noticeable than the raisins. And then there is a stinging alcohol flavour that I don’t find very pleasant. The mouthfeel is quite good (medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation), apart from the massive amounts of alcohol. Drinking this beer is a strange experience: I keep longing for the bitter sweet toffee caramel finish, but are still resistant to take another sip, since I know that I’ll have to endure 10 seconds of harsh alcohol flavours first.
[33 cl bottle, enjoyed ~5 years before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Vika, Oslo]

Bottle at Skansen, Båstad - after a dip in the sea.... Cloudy dark red/brown - small white head. Raisins, light roasted, nutty, dried fruits, licorice, sweetness, caramel, light soya notes, grassy, light wooden notes, ok bitterness, light citrus, light boozy notes. OK, but not that interesting.

bottle from ølbutikken clear amber, smooth beige head. very nice hoppy , dry malty and caramelly aroma. slightly spicy. flavor is malty, caramelly,dry.. faint spices, the dryness and the hops play very well together, Very tasty dry malty beer. Hops go a long way towards handling the quite sweet malty flavor. alc. well hidden and matches the beer well.
