Bottle. Deep amber body with a small, quickly disappearing off-white head. Nose is caramel, raisins, booze and a bit of bread yeast, which I find kinda strange. Taste is strong notes of caramel, with some tones of burnt sugar, roasted malts, alcohol and hints of raisins. Smooth mouthfeel. Burnt sugar again in the aftertaste, flanked by some boozy notes. Well integrated flavor profile, if not too overtly exciting all in all. A nice winter warmer, and a pretty drinkable - and likable - beer. Best one from Lervig that I’ve had so far. yngwie (17078) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 4, 2011
Bottle. It pours a clear, copper to brown body and a finger-thick off-white to light beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is dominated by dried fruits and caramel. Some alcohol too, and a nice hoppyness. Full-bodied and a bit heavily carbonated, slightly warming. Some hints of cooked corn in the flavor, but that disappeares in the split of a second, followed by caramel, dried fruits and a touch of spicyness. Some coffee-like roasted notes in the far back. Lasting finish with caramel and dried fruits. A nice one, picking up the Christmas spirit in a nice way, and of course well suited for a long, cold winter. 110304 Geokkjer (7627) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - MAR 4, 2011

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours hazy red-brown with a thin off-white head and low carbonation. The nose is brown bread, brown sugar, earth and sweet caramel. The taste is brown sugar, light spice, ginger, clove, earth, caramel and raisin, with sweet caramel finish. Alcohol is well hidden, yet the beer is surprisingly thin. Not bad. Bottle at Skansen, Båstad - after a dip in the sea.... Cloudy dark red/brown - small white head. Raisins, light roasted, nutty, dried fruits, licorice, sweetness, caramel, light soya notes, grassy, light wooden notes, ok bitterness, light citrus, light boozy notes. OK, but not that interesting.
