Palme (4832) - Bergen, NORWAY - JUL 4, 2016
On tap @ Haandfest 2013 as Julequist. This is really dark brown red in the glass and it only has a thin quickly gone dark beige sidesticking foam. The aroma however is really psycho. Loaded with burned coffee, roasted cloves, dark licorice, Christmas spices, a herbal products found in misc immigration stores and chocolate. Impressive and massive. It has a nice average carbonation level, small prickling and the mouthfeel is soft oily. No traces of the avb but it’s really dark and burned! Lots and lots if burned layers, roast, coffee and spices. Liquefied licorice, it’s salty in the finish. Lots of flavors in heis little puppy. Hope this will be made again. 25.05.2013

Gave fra Holmen1 til Rune som vi delte på Nerstranda 14 Okt 15. Svart. Høyt mokkafarget luftig skum. Behersket lakrisaroma. Smaken lakris & sjokolade med litt røstethet. Farlig lett-drikkelig.

Rune (13647) - Tromsø, NORWAY - OCT 17, 2015
330ml bottle received from Holmen1, many thanks. Fair, bubbly, espresso head. Jet black body. Mid-sweet chocolate malty nose, slightly roasted. Taste of creamy chocolate and cocoa with a roasted rind. Dangerously easy to drink. Enjoying (shared with Finn at his place in Tromsø 14.10.2015).

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2015 On tap at Cardinal (December 2014). Pours black with big and solid beige head. Very special and distinct aroma of chocolate, caramel, milk, fudge, wood, leather, rubber, alcohol. Taste of coffee, liquorice, roasted malt, fir raisins.

Cimbasso (1024) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 14, 2014
From the bottle (thanks, Jan!). Very dark colour, virtually black, with a thick brown head. Looks like a large frothy espresso. Wonderful aromas of roasted malts and black coffee. The taste is complex with lots of roasted coffee flavours and subtle juniper tones, as if there is hint of Tanqueray gin hiding there. Also powerful liquorice notes and hints of tobacco and dried fruit. There is a long and fortifying dry finish with a good hoppy quality. This is a very special brew, full of character and depth with superb balance. Bravo Lervig and Holmen!

Darker than opaque, very interesting smell. Strong beer with lovely taste. Sweet and enjoyable. Coffee and malt are the primary notes. Slightly odd butterscotch notes from tap.
