UPDATED: FEB 15, 2018 Draft at Bru Craft. Oily black pour with brown foam. Darkly sweet chocolate liquorice. Molasses pie. Smooth vinyl coffee. Prune jellybeans. Glossy blackcurrant liquor. A mouthful of dark intrigue.

Bottle. Color: Black, no head. Taste: Dark roasted malt, boozy and hoppy hints and a lot of milk and dark chocolate. The strong chocolate taste is making this beer pretty sweet. Smooth, below average carbonation, above medium to full body. With this chocolate beer, for me it is just like those beers with chili in it: I love chocolate and I love beer, but strange enough the combination just does not work for me... It is even hard to drink the whole bottle.

luttonm (7100) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 4, 2018
Bottle in Seattle. I believe I picked this up in London. Small head that dissipates pretty quickly. Very dark, almost oily brown coffee pour. I would have struggled with describing the aroma but for their description: this is definitely chocolate and vermouth. Sip is smooth, balanced and settled, with a light alcohol spiciness. Lots of milk chocolate mixed with alcohol. Not boozy per se, but the flavor is there. Smooth and thick sip. Gin-like botanical overtones. Lactose is present, some black licorice, hints of maple. Something else is familiar, but I can't place it. Intriguing and hits that boozy gin-chocolate note.

3.6
TEJA (3413) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 3, 2018
bottle from Systembolaget Sweden. Short fluffy brown head. very dark brown color. Milk chocolate aroma. sweet chocolate taste. big bitterness but don't match the sweetness.

Bottle into a teku showing pitch black with latte colored foam lacing. The nose shows moderately intense notes of latte, caramel, milk chocolate, and mocha. The palate is full bodied and moderately carbonated. Moderately sweet with moderately intense flavors of raisin, milk chocolate, and a mild coffee bitterness on the finish. Mild alcoholic heat.

szagi (227) - Warsaw, POLAND - DEC 29, 2017
Bottle. Sugar, confectionary, martini, alcohol in aroma. Flat, sweet, alcohol noticeable, but pleasant, some roastiness and chocolate. I'm not sure, but there is something in this beer that resembles martini :)

3.8
Nische (2738) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 25, 2017
Bottle from SB. Dark opaque black with quickly disappearing beige head. Aroma is lavender perfumed chocolate and candied sugar. Taste is cocoa, light roast, milk chocolate, vanilla. No booze at all.

4.2
BenL8 (307) - SWITZERLAND - DEC 23, 2017
Pours black, very little head. Aroma is very dominated by chocolate and cocoa. Somewhat spicy, some licorice, some coffee. Medium body. Flavour is incredibly smooth and rather creamy, chocolate is incredible, I actually think chocolate martini is an accurate description. Amazing Imperial stout.
