330ml can at home in Richmond, as ’Lervig Aktiebryggeri Hoppy Joe’, 4.7%, BB Dec 2016. Very dark purple brown, translucent with a huge dense foamy tan head. Aroma is toffee apple, resinous, musty, powdery bonbons. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is pine-forward, powdery, floral, chalky, minerally, mint fondant sweets, dry finish. Bottled, 330ml at Thirsty Meeples, Oxford. Rich, mid roasted malts with a caramel sweetness, cereals then a fruity hop note. All a little understated but easy drinking. It’s fine.
