Lucky Jack is just about the perfect beer for summer. Grapefruit, tropical fruits and citrus flavours from the Citra and Amarillo hops are apparent in the aroma and taste. But we decided to go one step further and actually make it the perfect summer beer. Beginning this spring (2016), we’re adding grapefruit juice to some of our Lucky Jack tanks. Now you can have all the flavour of Lucky Jack with a twist: a perfect medley of citrus from the addition of grapefruit juice. It’s beautifully refershing on a hot summer day on the deck or at the beach.

Malts: Pilsner and Caramel.
Hops. Perle, Citra, Amarillo, Chinook.

Aroma: grapfruit and citrus.

Food pairings: BBQ chicken and ribs, tortillas and guachamole, fresh fruit salad.Inspirert av iddisen Senior, Stavanger Norway.

Foam surfaces quickly to small islands on top of the beer. It can be a little disappointing. but the flavor is worth the disappointment. It smells although a little caramel malt which quickly taken over by citrus and pine needles. The taste is slightly caramelized, but since it’s pale ale as rails hops through quickly and tastes of bitter pine needles, tart citrus and slightly sweet tropical fruit. It’s a fine balanced pale ale, but I think it needs a little gentle carbonation to keep alive the foam. The finish is dry, but the whole fails. There are far better pale ales than this out there in the world, and it’s almost a shame to me to give the points on the basis of this review. The flavor was the best.

Bottle. Golden and clear with small head. Lovely fruity flavour with a hoppy aroma. Plenty of body considering its relatively low strength. Difficult to find anything critical about this one.

Pours golden with a nice foamy head. Aroma is citrus fruits. Taste is some sweet notes at the front and a nice bitter finish with some lingering alcohol notes.

33cl can from Beer52.com. A hazy straw coloured pour with a frothy white head; grainy aroma with some citrus; rather thin with a grapefruity bitterness, and some white grape must, giving a rather harsh finish.

MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - AUG 30, 2015
(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Fruity and mildly spicy hoppy aroma with notes of citrus, tangerine and grapefruit. Mildly bitter flavour, light bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft malty base with fresh and fruity hoppy notes; mildly bitter, citric, even slightly exotic fruity finish with a slightly sweet malty edge. Uncomplicated, not very complex summer Ale. 13.V.15
