Lucky Jack is just about the perfect beer for summer. Grapefruit, tropical fruits and citrus flavours from the Citra and Amarillo hops are apparent in the aroma and taste. But we decided to go one step further and actually make it the perfect summer beer. Beginning this spring (2016), were adding grapefruit juice to some of our Lucky Jack tanks. Now you can have all the flavour of Lucky Jack with a twist: a perfect medley of citrus from the addition of grapefruit juice. Its beautifully refershing on a hot summer day on the deck or at the beach.

Malts: Pilsner and Caramel.
Hops. Perle, Citra, Amarillo, Chinook.

Aroma: grapfruit and citrus.

Food pairings: BBQ chicken and ribs, tortillas and guachamole, fresh fruit salad.Inspirert av iddisen Senior, Stavanger Norway.

Bottled 330ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko/heavy (thanks!). Comes as Lucky Jack American Pale Ale. Pale amber coloured, small off-white head, pleasant hoppy citrusy nose. Moderate malty, quite hoppy and fruity lemony taste with hint of spices. Rather bitter finish. Nice one.

330ml can: BBD 9th June 17. Opened at home on 19th May 17 and poured into a Gwaun Valley brewery badged UK pint sleeve (just because I can): Norway meets Wales. Pale golden body, slight haze; deep head of white bubbles. Citrus notes hit your nose straight away, these carry on into the taste cells (or whatever the correct name is). Pink Grapefruit and lemon esters/flavours abound. Slight metallic and citric bitter feel towards the end of each sip almost ruins the whole thing for me. Scored objectively, but that metallic finish didnt help the points.

Bit unclear, golden colored, fizzy, medium white head, good lasting. Aroma is of malt, some caramel, bit bread, medium citrus and fruity hops. Taste is medium sweet malt with some light caramel, bit bready, moderate citrus and fruity hoppy aroma and bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, average carbonation, bit oily. Pretty clean profile especially since its an older can. (can, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

330ml can into schooner glass. Aroma is fairly subdued. Touches of fruit, malt and pepper. Slightly cloudy amber with particles in suspension and a few bubbles. Weird, it looks like the carbonation is frozen in time. Good body, bitter finish. Some malt later in the long finish. Not very involving.
