A light gusher. Very deep brown (close to black) body, with a huge, very long-lived brown head, ok lacing. Quite strong aroma of dark roasted malt, liquorice, and sweet, dark, overripe to fermented fruits. In the back I get chocolate and wood. Strong flavour of peaty whisky, dark roasted malt, wood, dark berries, and overripe to fermented sweet and sour fruits. Moderate sweet and light sour taste. Coffee and chocolate in the background. Close to full body, smooth texture, and rather lively carbonation that doesn't fit the beer at all. I guess the Ardbeg barrels had a few critters living in the wood...

Gusher, bare halve flaska fant veien ned i glasset. Helt svart med masse skum. duft av røyk, korn, mørke bær og kaffe. Kjenner whiskey i smaken sammen med masse korn og noe kaffe. En virkelig sipper. Ungstrup (39313) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2017

Opaque black color, small steady brownish head. Aroma has peaty Ardbeg-barrel and licorice. Medium-bodied. Peaty, smokey, licorice in the flavor. Active carbonation. Sweet licorice in the aftertaste. Nice Ardbeg-vibe.
33cl bottle @Norski tasting, Vaasa.
The beer poured pitch black with a thick off white head.
Aroma has nice barrel notes, some smoke and peat.
Peaty, roasted malty, mild ashy, woody flavors. Dry finish. Really enjoying the barrel notes. Foffern (2117) - Bodø, NORWAY - FEB 19, 2017
Bottle. Pours a dark brown to black colour and a light brown head. The aroma has nice and sweet smoky tones along with barbeque sauce, ash and some coffee and dark chocolate. The smoke whisky is really present. The flavor is more roasted with ash, coffee beans and smoke whisky in the background and aftertaste. Has a soft and silky mouth feel, full-bodied and balanced bitterness. A balanced and tasteful IS. The typical smoke whisky is all over and you really need to love that to love this ale.
