Cimbasso (978) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2015
Copper coloured with off-white head. Sweetish malts with a caramel flavour offset by an interesting taste of hops somewhere between cats' pee and stinging nettles. Very pleasant, actually. An interesting beer, but not exactly a typical lager. Somewhere between a Vienna lager and a bock in style.

Poured medium amber with a frothy tan head. Aroma of sweet berries, soft malt and light nuts. Medium body, flavour is moderately sweet berries, light liquorice, moderately bitter nuttiness.

Davros (3258) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 7, 2014
Pours copper with a fading head. Aroma of dill and lemon custard along with some sweet bready malt. More of the same hop notes as flavours with a little biscuity malt underneath.

Bottled. Sweet, malty and fuity nose. Pineapple, dill. Very drinkable, hope for more hop lager experiments.

On tap at Bergen Ølfestival. A reddish brown beer, unclear, and topped by a finger-thick light beige head. The aroma is lightly meaty, with malts, some coffee notes, pine cones and resin. Citrus fruits too, both in the aroma and flavor. It’s full-bodied and nicely carbonated, semi-dry and with a fine bitterness. Rather citrusy flavor with pine cones and resins. Malty back. A bit on the malty side, but dangerously easy to drink anyway. I remember I wondered about the malty scents, and flavors, in this one, and reading my notes now I wonder even more. Guess I’ll have to chase down another sample of this. 140906

On tap @ Cardinal. Unclear reddish orange body with a medium sized, dense, lacing head. Looks pretty nice actually. Aroma is distinct Sorachi Ace, i.e. a bit weird, undefined fruity, spices and hint of pine and some wet grass. Flavor is sweet, medium malty, caramel, dry fruit, slightly spicy and rather bitter. Nice, balanced body and decent aftertaste. A bit weird, body and bitterness feels more balanced than the actual flavor in this beer.
