COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A thirst quenching session beer, Sour Suzy mimics a classic German brewing technique (sour mashing) to impart a light, refereshing tartness. No hop bitterness and very low hop profile, Sour Suzy is not your typical session beer - rather it delivers something a bit more obscure and intriguing. It drinks as refreshingly as a glass of lemonade. The grain bill includes a healthy portion of wheat, while citrussy hops lend bright notes to the aroma, which is accentuated by the addition of Makrut lime leaves.

Malts: Pilsner and wheat. Hops. Styrian Golding.

Food pairings: seafood (white fish, mussels, crab) or as a palate cleanser between dishes.

blueruin (187) - - NOV 19, 2017
Pours very light straw yellow and cloudy with some apparent carbonation. No head. Aroma is light floral zest and some grass/soap. In the mouth light lemon, lightly sour, slight sherbet - delicate and quite muted, fading to an almost lagerish and slight soap medium length finish. Palate fairly thin. Nice enough as a sunny thirst quencher, but this isn't particularly memorable.

Iznogud (4359) - CROATIA - NOV 19, 2017
On tap at Leeds International Beer Festival, 2017. Pours cloudy pale golden, small white head. Good citrus aroma, lemon, some lactic sourness, falls apart after a good start. Light bodied.

Tide (4356) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 4, 2017
Draught at Kitty's. Hazy yellow color, white head. Sour taste with citrus, malts, wheat, a bit of tart and grass. Sour finish with citrus, malts, a bit of tart and toast. Okay stuff, though weird maltiness.

ClearHead (51) - FINLAND - OCT 27, 2017
Bottle bought 10/2017. BB 22.3.2018. 8C. Almost no head. Very light colour, clear. Light, sour aroma. Moderately sour, a bit citrusy. Light-bodied. Drinkable, but a bit unambitious.

3.2
Bacterial (3051) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - OCT 1, 2017
Draft in Portugal. Slightly hazy, highly carbonated with a thick white head. Nice straw nose with hints of citrus. Taste is somewhat muddled, tart but grainy.

bartlebier (4123) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - SEP 13, 2017
(backlog 33cl bottles 2016-17; cellared 1 for BWeisse tasting) - Wheat starch-accented light whey&lime cocktail for the modern masses, subtituting lemonade drinkability and limeleaf adjuncts for hard-to-fathom meandering brett notes. Mild lactic notes amidst the wheat juice. Reminds me of a dryhopped Latella Fruchtmolke, Austrian's nowadays hard to source classic in DE, which is never a bad thing, but in terms of BWeisse it runs in the teenage division.

Christian (13823) - Odense, DENMARK - SEP 9, 2017
Hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of grain with a touch of lemon. Dry, tart fruity flavour with grain.

vipinvelp (4541) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - AUG 29, 2017
Clear pale yellow, white short lasting foam head. Light sour in aroma and taste, not too outspoken, decent. OK. (Arnhem 201708)

scrog (24) - Roma, ITALY - AUG 27, 2017
Spremuta di limone acquosa e acida. Trovata dissetante ma niente di più. mediocre

3.9
janribbe (51) - SWEDEN - AUG 25, 2017
Smak och doft av citrus, gräs, vete med lätt äppelton. Frisk, torr, fin syrlighet och lätt kropp, bra avslut.
