Saeglopur (2216) - Vienna Woods, AUSTRIA - AUG 22, 2017
Score: 9 / 4 / 8 / 4 / 17

500 ml can from Etre Gourmet, bb 12/11/17.
Orange, cloudy body, with a medium, frothy, off-white head.
Amazing aroma of thick apricot juice, jam, passion fruit, mango, orange juice, some grass, subtle pine.
Tastes of grapefruit, apricot jam, passion fruit, mango, orange juice, grass, some pine, some biscuit.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes moderate bitter, very fruity again, juicy, very citric, piney, a bit sweet, like jam.

Very tasty! This is really special, with a distinct juiciness, like concentrated Citra hop juice. The balance is also great, very fruity and thick, but also very crisp and refreshing at the same time. Beautiful stuff!

(500 ml can) Pours a hazy apricot-orange beer, with fine carbonation, and a small white head. The aroma is a sucker-punch of juicy new-world hops: mango, grapefruit, passionfruit, pineapple, pine, apricot flesh and kernel, and dank heady undertones. Medium-sweet and fruity, with a touch of oatmeal, cream, and honey. Smooth and pleasantly creamy on the palate. The finish is bitter, accented by hop notes of lemon peel and blood orange. A really tasty, juicy, and heady New England IPA. This strikes the balance nicely between sweet fruit and dank bitterness. Surely one of the best.

Draught at Røør. Completly cloudy dark amber almost orange pour with offwhite head. Aroma is packed with orange peel and fresh citrus. Taste is mild and fruity with a quite thin but still bitter end. Ends with quite a yeasty kick.

Aroma: 8
Heavy aroma of malts, caramel, orange, tropical fruit, hops and citrus.

Appearance: 5
Opaque golden/amber beer with a slight/medium off-white head.

Taste/Palate: 8/4
Starts medium sweet with malts, caramel, orange and tropical fruit; ends slightly bitter and dry with hops and citrus.

Overall: 17
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. This is especially true for its abv. Lovely juicy orange flavour thanks to all the malts and hops. Perfect opaque appearance and a great aroma and palate as well.
