Boutip (6212) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 12, 2011
Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a small foamy head with light retention and lacing. Aroma of light cereal notes with unrefined grain. Taste is not the greatest with unrefined grain and light cereal notes with residual sugar notes. Body is light with good carbonation. Only to be consumed by those allergic to gluten.

probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 27, 2011
341 ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha, served cool in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear deep copper with a small tan head. Aroma: Some decent malt aromas – light brown sugar and caramel, a touch of vague fruitiness; alcohol, a bit of apple or pear juice?, slightly peppery like a rye beer, not awful. Palate: Medium-ish body, fairly lively effervescence. Flav.: Watery, vague fruitiness and slight rye pepperiness, a strange...vegetal/floral note?, old apple juice, not particularly good; dry with some odd astringency and a watery, peppery, vaguely fruity finish.

Another miss for gluten-intolerants and Celiacs. Sorry, folks.

DuffMan (10070) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 17, 2010
Bottle. Pours a crystal clear iced-tea amber with an effervescent fizzy head that vanishes in less than a minute. Lots of carbo bubbles in the glass, such that it looks like soda pop. I agree with presario on the aroma-- strongly metallic, with an odd compost-sweet smell underlying. This is the worst smelling beer I’ve had in a while. I’ll even take Alley Kat’s garlic-infused lager aroma over this. Flavours are all wrong too. A nightmare hodge-podge of rotten veggies, sweet-and-sour caramel, and metal. Watery mouthfeel. Finish is slightly tart. worse than the blonde gluten-free brew offered by the same brewery. Horrendous. If there were no beer but this beer, then I would drink water.

Kind of flat dark reddy copper with minimal head. Sour cinamon alluminum scent. Very metallic, sour finish, caramel and sugar.

Powertrip (1000) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 9, 2009
Limited head and coca-cola colour. Nose has melted caramel, rice, oil, and a touch of taragon. Palate has hints of sake (of course) wtih red wine vinegar, citrus and flour. Very lightly carbonated. Sweet malt finish. Because it appears to be a valid attempt at something quite different, and often the only avenue for some people (being gluten free), this beer is worthy of at least some appreciation.

mabel (8735) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2009
[2011-20090219] 341mL bottle. Cherry cough syrup aroma with sweet grass, mild minty floral notes and over-ripened cantaloupe. Clear, golden amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Initially sweet cherry syrup and fruity melon flavour with floral pineapple (without the snap). Medium body. Poor.

Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, garthicus, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o GregClow. Pours a clear orange-amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma and flavour: Wha’!? Orange drink mixed with cleaning products and sugar?! Guh?! Crap.

Bouteille 341ml.

jercraigs (10258) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2009
UPDATED: APR 25, 2009 2009-02-19. Nice dark amber-brown body with a small quick tan head. (3+) Painful aroma is harsh and leaves a chemical impression like rancid play-doh. More pleasant florals and an odd herbal character. Messed up muted over ripe melons, actually improves somewhat as it warms up, maybe? Flavour is marginally better, similar strange melange of weird fruit, light tart notes, tangy malt, mixed fruits. Average to thin palate. Poor. Bottle shared by some c*nt.
