Bottle: Poured a cloudy light beige color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice solid malt backbone with light hoppy notes. Taste is very refreshing with some solid malt backbone with notes of floral hops and light citrus finish. Body is fuller then average with good carbonation. Not the most complex beer out there but very well done nonetheless.

My Bottom Line:
An adorable balance of spicy, leafy hops and homely honeyed cereals resides in this modest and highly convenient quaffer of a Golden Ale.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sticky ring of foam circles the hazy peach golden.
-The malts have that personality intrinsic to the Frontenac maltsters; that farmy, grainy greenness is definitely detectable.
-The finish lengthens the leafy side of the chosen hops and adds some grassiness too.
-A subtle tropical fruitiness can be found in the nosem blending in perfectly with the malt and hop profiles.
-Although its name might have you expect an English style, du Hameaus house yeast is definitely Belgian...
-I get the impression the tap version was a tad better integrated than the bottles.

On tap at Brouhaha.

Bottle (341ml). Shared with blankboy, my bottle via trade with Viper666. Very cloudy amber-tinged gold with an average creamy-fizzy off-white head, beautiful continuous bubbling action. Sweet malt aroma, slight hint of spruce and rosehips - has an interesting musty character. Taste - "Belgian Ale?" - Id say this is a solid Qubec golden ale, with dry slightly resin finish but mostly dominated by carbonation and clean, crisp cereal grain malt. Light body but definitely not watery, extremely carbonated - excellent golden ale, nothing special, but very drinkable.

A hazy golden ale witha super thick egg white head. A very grainy malt aroma, with mineral notes. In mouth, a crisp malt with lots of mineral qualities, light german hops, very lager like. Medium bodied Overall, a decent beer.

On tap at Brouhaha, hazy honey gold hue, with a white head, yeasty nose of grape bubblegum, with a wet pale malt note, a subtle honeyish pale malt accent, with a thin hop aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, bubblegum, fruity character, with a nice flowery hop, faint graissiness and lemony note, leading towards a grassy, leafy hop bitterness finish.

2009-04-10. Hazy orange amber body with a good foamy off-white head, large chunks from the bottom of the bottle. Yeasty grainy aroma, touch of cardboard/oxidation. Lightly bitter flavour, underlying pale malts, dry caramel and a dry finish. Yeast lingers in the aftertaste. Average palate is well carbonated. Meh. Bottle from shop in Montreal
