Aroma spruce, fresh clean bit dry set of aromas with gentle funk. Forest leafy greens, touch of citrus. 7+
Appearance golden-copper. Medium bright white top with some lace shown. 4-
Flavor and Palate : medium bodied. Clean with noticeable spruce feel. Fresh, light and clean work. Gentle bubblegum touches as it goes. Chewy finish. Yummy brew.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of spruce notes is quite powerful with nice light dry malt notes. Taste is an interesting and unique mix between some spruces notes with light herbal notes and a dry non-descript malt base. Body is a bit fuller then average with good carbonation. Im not the biggest fan of spruce but this was an interesting experiment.

Finale agrable. Dsaltrant.

A pretty light golden brew covered by a tight, lasting 1cm cover. Straightforward and agreeable aroma to the spruce lover. Outrageously dominated by Spruce, it remains relatively drinkable thanks to its lean body and generally low residual sugars. The Hameau yeast does not take too much room here and the basic pale malts serve a mere support function. Smooth, soft carbonation grow into an almost foamy texture as limey, woodsy, fresh spruce. Unlike hops, its not really a flavor I could see myself drinking lots of regularly, but its a pleasant and refreshing ale and Im looking forward to trying more of these experiments. When focused and unassuming, these flavored beers may not be show-stoppers, but theyre educative and a nice change of pace.

Lubiere (13271) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2011
A sickly pale blonde ale with a thin creamy white head. Aroma of sweet sickly malt and sweetened spruce extracts. However, in mouth a smooth biscuitty malt with light piney British hops, the pineyness coming from the coniferous material, like a smooth British pale ale. Refreshing. 4.99$ from Peluso, 2 mo. old.
