Style et résumé: IPA impériale houblonnée à cru. 100 IBU.
Note: 6+ /10

On tap at the brewpub. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white creamy head. Well balanced hoppy aroma with malty and grapefruit hints. Alcohol is very well hidden. Sharp hoppy taste with some fruity, sweet, and woody notes. Ends with a long bittersweet finish. Very good example of Imperial IPA.

Pours a clear golden with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of alcohol and lightly floral. Not that fragrant just like the rating below mentions. Taste is sweet, way less than your usual IIPA though, and offers some spices and perfume. Body is medium and so is carbonation. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky just like it should. Overall I remember the big bottles being different than this and a little more enjoyable. Not by a large margin, though. Just OK.

750 mil bottle from brewery, bottled 11/08/31#1038, cool, tulip, shared with brother. Hazy orange amber with a so so off white head. Lots of citrus and resin, berry notes, slightly woodsy, bitter green herbs, Saison funkiness (odd), a little sweet maltiness, not as expected. Medium+ body, vivicious effervescence. Strong Saison funk with bitter green herbs, sweet, fruity malts, big citrus peel, not at all what I expected; sweet with good bitterness, booze, and a long fruity, funky finish. Devilish indeed.

Metalchopz (3709) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 17, 2012
Purchased at my local Métro store (among others from this brewery available - all at once). Pours a cloudy golden-amber colour with a soapy off-white head that has great retention and lacing. The nose is really nice with fresh hop, that is not overpowering, with hints of caramel hidden behind. Real smooth mouthfeel with no burning at all, and almost no warming. Not as bitter as one would think (judging from the scent) but a nice little dry mouth with hop and some mild sugars appear in the aftertaste to balance everything. Almost like mild maple syrup lingering. Quite a nice Imperial IPA that is really too easy to drink.

Great beer. I had it at lunch. Pours a cloudy/opaque golden yellow with a big frothy head and great lacing. Aroma is citrus/grapfruit coming from a boatload of hops. Taste is a punch in the mouth of citrus/floral hop bitterness with a smoothness of wheat and hop. Reminded me of Pliny although it’s been awhile. I’ll be back.

Bottle 750ml. Pours hazy/murky golden. Minimal head. Aroma is of citrus, acidity. Taste is of citrus, weird malt, alcohol. Overall: Maybe I have to re-rate in the future, but for now I would say this beer tastes weird, which is no compliment.
