My Bottom Line:
Tropical, citrusy fruitiness shines atop mild resinous hoppiness while making room for the quenching acidity of cranberries.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the hazy pink red.
-The Citra character is perfectly harmonious with the cranberries and their acidity, especially in the aroma.
-Carbonation is quite bubbly and the mouthfeel is appropriately lean. The result is obviously very easy drinking despite the intensity of the flavor profile.
-Bottle-conditioned, this is going to be a super hit.
-I wish more fruit beers were like this one and their Framboyante, marrying the fruit’s character with well-chosen cultivars’.

On tap at Brouhaha.

October 22, 2014 - at BDT - on draught. Looks great - clear refractive copper pour with a decent lasting off-white head. Aroma is cranberries, orange peel and alcohol - taste follows, nice balance, not too sweet. Solid carbonation, average body - nice acidic bite in the quick finish. Very solid beer.

Keg at Brasseur du Temps, Gatineau. Hazy orange/amber, mid sized head. Tart nose with herbal spice and cranberries. Berry tart with medium body and distinct, rounded mouthfeel. Bread and spice, lots of tart cranberries. Mid bitter finish. Tasty and interesting.

Pours a hazy darker golden with a small white head that leaves some lacing. Nose is of fruits, wood, alcohol and some fresh spices. Would have said cranberries but it was pleasing regardless. Taste is not quite tart but has a slight acidic edge. Dry, tannic and fruity. Winey in a way. A light to moderate bitterness. Body is medium, carbonation moderate and the tannic berries dry the mouth quite a bit. Overall a fun fruit beer, different.

750ml bottle shared with brother. Aroma: cranberries, sulfure, subtle caramel. App: cloudy red like a fine Rosé wine, minimal white head, little lacing. Taste and palate: light body, soft carbonation, weird acidified white winey finish. Astringent a bit as well. Overall: weird finish. But overall this ain’t bad. An ok fruit beer.

Tap at brewpub. Pours slight pink/brown with some head and some lacing. Nose is tart fruit almost cherry. Flavours are tart cranberry, some yeast, some lemon. Taste light sweet med/light tart. Medium body lively carbonation.

341 ml bottle. Pours a veiled pinkish orange with a short lived beige head. Aroma is tart, lemon, herbs. Flavor is cranberry, sweetbread. Finish is lemon, sour, strong bitterness and herbs. Light to medium body, weak to average carbonation.

Pours a nice big frothy pinkish head and has a somewhat murky ruby appearance. Extremely thick dirty lacing. Aromas are malty and wheaty with strong notes of the cranberry coming through. Flavours are mostly of the wheat and malt family. Belgian yeast definitely noticeable. Has some tarty sour notes in the finish. The cranberries are fairy apparent in this one and not too offensive as well. Good balance if sweets and bitterness. Smooth and slick mouthfeel.

A very successful but way out there take on the Belgian blonde fruit beer. The nose reveals only some of the elements that dominate the taste profile -- cranberries, malt and a touch of sourness. The taste profile hits you with sourness first, followed by blending elements of tartness, cranberry, a touch of Belgian yeast, a spritz of citrus hops and some residual fruit sweetness. A solid, clean and dry finish ends off a real taste-bud adventure. Well done.
