Draught at the brewpub. Pours a cloudy copper-brown with a small semi-lasting foamy off-white head. Aromas malty and fruity along with light resiny hops and light spices. Flavours hoppier then the aroma suggests with a decent amount of resiny hops along with caramel malt, light spices and fruit. Medium bodied. Pretty good.

[on tap at brewpub] Diacetyl butterscotch aroma with some UK hops and caramel. Almost clear dark bronze under a thin, white cover. Strong diacetyl butter flavour with caramel and a bold bitterness ending with toffee. Light to medium body, moderately bitter finish that is buttery.

On tap at the brewpub. Seemed pretty interesting. Taped a clear dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma is quite fruity, lots of dark fruits and red grapes with no hint of much else. Flavour hits right away with some serious sweet esters. Followed by very minor rye dryness and minor hop bitterness in the finish. Expected more hops considering its dry-hopped, but whats there offers some good balance. Also could do with more straight up rye flavour, but this isnt a crippling fault. Over-all a nice experiment which ended up tasty if not a bit confusing as to what it wants to be.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark copper body with a fair off-white creamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with grapefruit hints. Sharp, fresh hoppy taste with malty and oaky notes. It ends with a long bitter finish. Very enjoyable!

In short: A straightforward but effective rye beer
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Cloudy dark redish-golden body topped by a small off-white head
In long: Nose has rye bread and some resinous hops. Taste is full of rye bread, a slight juicy spicy sensation, some caramel, some resinous hops bringing a mild bitterness. Straightforward but quite tasty. I liked it. One of the many pints I had at the pub first anniversary. Someone said that Hull is such a beautiful city and that a charming city like Hull deserves a classy brewpub like BDT. I love it when people are very sarcastic. Really, keep it up. Sarcasms are great.

Lubiere (13548) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 16, 2010
A hazed reddish brown ale with a thin moka head. A fragrant spiced aroma, with notes of strawberries and light cinnamon, with floral hops. In mouth, a nutty malt with fruity esters, fusel, some harshness, but quite pleasant. Medium bodied. On tap at the pub, at BdT 1st Anniversary, May 15 2010.
