Bottle... Clear burnt-orange ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is a mélange of apricot, caramel and resiny hops. Full-bodied with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. The flavor is elegant and balanced nicely by piney hops, caramel malts and an undertone of butterscotch. Finishes bittersweet with lingering roastiness. Bottle shared by the ever-generous MartinT!

750ml bottle pours a clear, dark caramel amber with some thin, lacing, eggshell head. Nose is nice malty, orange, honey, cracker, some brown sugar, a little brown bread, pine, some cardboard. Flavor is very sweet, caramel, brown sugar, honey, bread crust, some orange, some lemon, some pine, a little soap. Full bodied, sticky finish, port. Needed some time in the air to open up, almost like a bottle of red wine.

Bottled 12/09/17 and consumed today. Pours a nice liquid caramel and is topped by a fluffy white head. Not bad looking at all. Aroma is caramel glazed hops, heavily balanced toward hops. Taste is sweet but not cloying with again a strong hops presence, it may be a bit harsh even. Mouthfeel is good, with ample carbonation. Not the best barleywine to come out of Quebec but I’m still happy to have sampled it at least once.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber with a resilient white head. Smell is light caramel, some fruits. Flavor is red berries, pears, cherries, caramel. Good herbal and roasted hop finish. Light to medium body, sticky mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Pours a cloudy copper/brown colour with huge initial off white head amounting to a fair ring around the glass leaving a bit of lace. Aromas of sweet malts, sweet dark dried fruits, and some grassy/earthy hops. Flavours are sweet malts, dark dried fruits, warming alcohol, and caramel.

Thanks to cfrancis for this one. Pours a hazy reddish copper with a frothy off white head that dissipates into a ring. Aroma of booze, sweet malts, dark dried fruits, raw sugar and some earthy hops. Taste is caramel, sweet dried fruits and slight hop bitterness and alcohol warming on the finish. Decent barley wine that is nice to drink.

Cheers!

Hazy red-brown with a moderate amount of fine head. Smell is sweet like raw sugar, some tree hoppiness and a slight bit of sourness. Palate is medium bodied with some aggressive carbonation. Taste is quite sweet, slightly bitter and has a long bitter aftertaste. Needs aging for sure, would like to revisit in a few years.

Tried on tap as a sample at BdT. Tried it side by side with the Brandy treatment so may not have been fair. Cloudy dark amber with a nice biege head that disappeared fairly quickly. Lots of caramel and some dark fruit, sweet and slightly roasted malt, bitterness that I thought would be nice but threw the balance out for me a bit. Moderate carbonation and body, some alcohol with a sweetness that lingers.
