750ml bottle courtesy of Guillaume! Cheers! Served in a chalice. Appearance: Opaque brown, tiny beige head that dissipated very quickly. Aroma: Like an amazing gingerbread cookie. Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, licorice. Smells exactly like the Scandinavian Christmas beers that I love, but even more well balanced. Palate: Thick bodied, fairly fizzy, short finish. Taste: very savoury. Not as sweet as expected, but still a bit sweet. The short finish makes the beer quickly drinkable. Really really really nice. Better than any other North American winter beer I’ve had by a mile.
Keg at Brasseur du Temps, Gatineau. Hazy mahogany colour, mid sized head. Caramelly nose with an array of spices. Mid sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Ouzo, caramel, nutmeg and citrus dominates. Focused and harmonious. Mid bitter finish. A winner! Arcanor (422) - Quebec, CANADA - JAN 18, 2017
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2017 On tap at Harricana Brewpub. Dark brown with red notes. Dence medium tan head that diminish to a thick cloud and a generous ring. Aroma is a blend of spices, star anise, black loquorise, pine... Taste is spicy, orange crust, anise and liquorise as well. Medium carbonation, medium drinckability and warmful. Nice long and warm spicy finish. stef73 (681) - Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 1, 2016

To be honest, i dont love this style so my rating is maybe lower than it ought to be/ Murky brown, aroma of clove and licorice. Clove, gingerbread, spice and yeast. Ok Gluepot (712) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 9, 2015
A Christmas classic in the Ottawa/Gatineau area. A thin tan head on a black body. The nose is a festival, featuring cloves, ginger, malt and a hint of nutmeg. The taste profile features rich seasonal tastes, including anise, ginger, cloves, orange peel and slightly roasted malt. The body is appropriately thick and rich but the taste is clean and not cloying. A great Belgian xmas offering

750ml bottle from La Trappe au Fromage in Gatineau, Quebec. Deep brown in colour with a large and long lasting beige head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of light spice, cake, some chocolate, light alcohol, liquorice. The flavour is sweet, warming, oranges and spice, cinnamon and liquorice, malty, noticable alcohol. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, warming and spicy. Very good stuff. An excellent winter/christmas beer. Deep amber-brown pour. The aroma is nice and malty. A little bit of
molasses and a bit of star anise flavour. There is a touch of warming
character. Orange peel and dried fruit. Some special B malt and a
cooling minty character as well. Lingering orangey finish. Lots of
anise retronasally. maximet (165) - Quebec, CANADA - MAR 1, 2015
Dark brown with a nice brown head. Nutmeg, liquorice, cinammon, dark fruit. Sweet taste, just a hint of bitterness. Full body, thick brew with a average carbonation. Stephane_Houle (229) - - DEC 14, 2014

2013 750ml bomber from a trade, served in a tulip. A dark brown which in the light gives some mahoganey accents that complement the head of beige foam. It has a fantastic fruity nose of cinammon plums, nutmeg, figs, rich dark chocolate malts - yum. The body is ok but a bit on the thin side while the carbonation is just a bit sharp. The taste is cocoa butter, spices and dark pitted fruits. Nice. once it warms up it has a more balanced/fruity flavor with fudge like cocoa... it definitely grows on you and it is amazing how fast this bottle disappeared!
