(750ml bottle) Pours an opaque black body with a spare beige head. Aroma of bourbon, roasted malt, chocolate, almond, and light coffee. Flavor of chocolate, roasted grain, bourbon, wood, and minerals.

Part of a 750 ml bottle shared by Bruce. 2012 vintage. Deep brown black, thin mocha head. Aggressive barrel character, peppery, strong dark maltiness, surprisingly aggressive for a three year old beer. Strong coffee finish with a vinous quality, very woody finish. Too much, even now!

Countbeer (6592) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 6, 2015
Bottle: Vintage 2012: #17: Massive thanks Pushkinwow: Chouffe glass: Ashy beige brown head. Black beer. Aroma obviously shows some bourbon also minerals, roast, light coffe, some liquorice, hint of cherries and some chocolate. Flavour is roast, bitter, chocolate, bourbon, light coffee, some marzipan, light liquorice, malt roast, nice. Aftertaste is roasty, chocolate, bourbon, wood, malts, and some coffee... Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, close to full bodied. Nice beer, bit longer on a barrel wouldn’t be wrong either...

Bouteille vieilli 4 ans.

750ml bottle from Broue Ha Ha in Gatineau, Quebec. Black in colour with a thin beige head, little lacing. The aroma is of alcohol, sugar, vanilla, roasted malts. The flavour is of roasted malts, vanilla, some alcohol, dark fruits, some sweetness. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, mild carbonation. Finishes long, sweet and warming. Really nice, the barrel aging doesn’t thin the beer at all. Really good.

Very oaky aroma. appearance is dark with a dark beige head. Taste is very oaky with a bit of sweetness, chocolate and coffee. Nice but a little too oaky. Would like to try the other versions.

Big league stout barrel aged gave a little sweet alcohol touch to the rather espresso chocolate notes generally found in the beer. Picked it up at Bières du Monde in Aylmer

On tap at the brewpub, deep abyssal color, with a thick creamy tan head, with a mild bourbonish, mocha, vanilla, dark dried fruit nose, with some woody, black coffee, faint grated coconut notes, with a roasted, black, toasted, caramel malt, dark bitter chocolate accent in the aroma follows through on a full-bodied palate with a warmth yeasty, fruity, bourbon, black coffee, vanilla, mochaish, dark bitter chocolate, chocolate cake, burnt toast character, with some burnt fruitcake, roasted, chocolate, black, toasted malty flavours, leading towards a warming, bourbonish, burnt fruitcake, coffeesih, dark bitter chocolate, lingering roasty bitterness finish.

Delightful. Pours velvet black with a small beige head. Aroma is bourbon sweetness, oak, roasted malt and a thin layer of chocolate. Taste is a great balance of bourbon sweetness, oak dryness, bitter chocolate and roasted malts.
