En fût au brouepub. Couleur noire presque opaque, faible mousse moka baveuse. Arôme d’alcool, café, malt torréfié. Goût d’alcool, malt torréfié, chocolat noir, boisé?, légère acidité. Carbonatation faible, corps moyen

Drank on tap (12 oz) at the brewpub on April 5, 2015. Black, big head (nitro tap). Sweet and raw barley and cocoa aroma, some nuty notes. Raw barley taste but little flavor, even a bit water down, ok bitterness. The aroma was so promissing!

On tap at the brewpub. It is pitch black with a solid creamy beige head. It has a great roasty aroma the flavor is soft cocoa and roasty oats.  Delicious.

Tap at the brewpub. Deep black with a creamy nitro head. The nose is quite nice. Roasted malt and a bit of coffee. It’s softly sweet with a light roasted bitterness. A touch of lingering bitter cocoa on the finish. Nice brew

tap on the premises. dark brown pour with a small light beige cap, some retention and lacing. roasted malts, deeply roasted coffee, remains an interesting red fruitiness, hint of acidity, quite mineral and ashy, licorice-plenty, lactose-like under control sweetness, woodsiness. moderate to low carbonation, light to medium body - oat can do better than that, grassy-ashy-bitter coffee finish. more than decent sweet stout.

On tap at the brewpub with my wife our last night in Montreal for the year. Pours a deep black with a medium to large creamy dense beige head. Big beautifully sweet roast on the nose, redolent with chocolate and cocoa and loveliness. Just on the thin side of medium bodied, think this was a nitro pour so it looks lovely, but then loses out on the mouthfeel. Falls a bit short of the nose as well. Nice chocolate and cocoa, roast is all there, but it’s just not as intense and detailed in execution as it was on first approach. Not to say it’s bad in any way. It’s not. Perfectly sessionable stout. Finishes with a hint of sweet cocoa, dry and roasty. Nice.

Keg in Les Soeurs Grises. Dark black colour, thick beige head. More of a black malt than a roasted kind of stout, lots of chocolate flavours, a decent almost creamy grainy mouthfeel, hint of herbal notes from hops. Not one for extreme roasted tar stout lovers, but to me a very enjoyable pont.
