Un assemblage de plusieurs tonneaux de notre Barleywine Américain, qui ont longuement maturés avec une flore de brettanomyces. La densité (sucres résiduels) est donc très basse, contrairement à la version régulière. Une bière intense et complexe.

Bottle - Funky barrel notes and soft dark caramel in the back. Cloudy copper with a rich beige head. Lots of barrel and some funk with caramel notes.

Alusmamuts (2007) - LATVIA - JUL 11, 2017
Amber bit hazy with small beige head. Nice slightly sweet *sour aroma. Medium bitterness mixed with good sweet -sourness, nicely warning.

My Bottom Line:
Dried cranberries, pine needles, peach juice and a mild pickle-like acidity whirl about in this unique creature of a Barley Wine.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the hazy deep red.
-Alcohol warmth seals each sip.
-The candied fruit notes are pleasant.
-Carbonation is rather prickly, which tends to detract from the enjoyment of the malts.


Oakes (17831) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 18, 2017
This has a brett nose, with a hazy amber body. The aroma also shows some light fruits. On the palate, it’s tart, and the brett has eaten a lot of the sugars away. This gives a lean, stripped down brew, nearly devoid of all barley wine richness, but with just enough datey, raisiny character to remind you what the base beer was. All told, it presents more as a brett experiment than anything else.

Bottled, thanks MartinT Cloudy copper brown, rich firm head. Funky bretty nose with some bread behind. Tart with an underlying sweetness. Medium bodied with rounded spritzy mouthfeel. Pears, lemon and bready caramel. Light piney bitterness.

Intensywne bretty w aromacie. Bardzo owocowe (intensywny grejpfrut), delikatnie kwaskowe. Suszone owoce, karmel. Mega fajne, orvalowe bretty, ale bez brettowej goryczki na finiszu.

Sampel butelki w Chmielarni. Bardzo przyjemnie owocowe, raczej brak typowo dzikich aromatów. Smak przyjemny i ciekawy, słodki z lekkim kwaskiem.

Amber, hazy, small head. Lots of funk in aroma, red fruits, citrous. Medium sourness, medium body, high bitterness. Again lots of funo in flavour, cherry esters, soke malt. Nice hidden alcohol, but to high bitterness.

Brown opaque color with permanent creamy thin creamy head. Nice aroma, fresh fruity Bretts, flowery. Highly carbonated, earthy malts flavor, mild acidity, definitively a lot of Brett, culminating in big final astringency and more Brett, alcohol and earthy character.
Not much a Barley Wine. Extreme, edgy, very good.
