Bottle. Deep brown - cloudy. Excelent - quite strong/sweet with wheat flavor there.

Bottle (750 ml). Summer 2009, so 5½ years old. Greek gift from Luk_!

Appearance: Hazy bright amber with a small (medium when stirred vigorously) beige head and little lacing.

Aroma: Massive cardboard and Welch grape juice along rotten fruits, light spiciness and alcohol.

Taste: It’s not getting any better here. Burning alcohol with cardboard and rotten fruits. Maybe even rotten Welch grape juice if that’s even possible considering how chemical it is (or was, don’t know if it exist anymore, but it was available when this beer was produced).

Palate: Medium body. Soft carbonation. Watery mouthfeel. Cardboard finish. Lingering rotten fruits aftertaste. Burning.

Overall: I have decided to rate it because a 10% abv beer can sometimes be still good after 5 years, but it’s definitely not the case with this one. The good news is that I will finally get my 20¢ refund for the empty bottle.

750ml corked bottle pours a golden orange color with a huge white head that settles to some thin lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel and dark fruit with hints of yeast. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with a hint of fruits and yeast and a mild hoppy bitterness. Medium to heavy body with some really nice carbonation. This is a great tasting ale and is recommended to try.

This poured an orange color with a white head. Aroma was wheat character, light fruit, yeast and boooze. Flavor was very strong, a bit astringent, and wheat charter and witth lemon and lots of alcohol.

2009 vintage C&C 750 mL bottle shared by Butters at the 15th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 7/16/11. Pours a hazy amber color with a large frothy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel, stone fruits and leafy hops. The taste is rich caramel malts, stone fruits, vanilla. Full bodied. Very smooth. Very nice beer.

Richmond Gathering, one of the more interesting ones we ran across during the tasting, liked it a lot. Medium to dark amber. Light caramel aroma. Flavor is more interesting, rich caramel, but also a wheat note, and some slight, undefined fruit that hints at tangerine. Touch of vanilla on the finish. Very nice.

obguthr (6921) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Well blended aroma of papaya, elderberry, and caramel. cLoudy amber, medium yellow head. Caramel and papaya flavor, really hot. Fig leaf finish.

Butters (4062) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Hazy purply amber hue. For what it is, I think it’s well done. Sweet, and honey, and lavendar, and wheat. Kinda like a tripple, but very mellowed. Caramel, and wheat. Surpsingly well done.

pushkinwow (2977) - Ottawa, CANADA - JUN 11, 2011
2008 bottle. Very cloudy pale yellow, whitish head. Very sweet - plum, raisin, some booze, but has gotten much better with age. Sweet, some hops, alcohol, nice finish - wow this beer has changed, much better!!
