COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and youll enjoy its subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

On the border between dark brown and jet black... really, its only the chocolate tinted head that allows any light into the glass. Sweet malty aroma that also gives off a touch of graininess. Thick on the tongue and just full of flavors - bitter chocolate, some roasted malt, coffee and a hint of hoppiness finished off with spice. A truly majestic brew. An epic!

very herbaceous aroma. pretty good porteresque taste. it was better as it warmed up, a little too sweet for my liking though. very heavy mouthfeel which I liked, almost like syrup

Man the LCBO on Howard really got some great stuff in. This is the 3rd beer Ive found in the top 99%. Very very dark brown pour, hazy with a tan head. Strong raisin and berry scent. Thick sweet mouth. Lots of caramel, roast and smoke. Dark sweet and rich is the best I can describe this. Rather nice. I think I would prefer just a touch less sweet. The one thing I really dont taste is anything boozy which is surprising based on the percentage.

Loads of sweet malts, sweet burnt malts, fruit, and an odd olive oil aroma. Very sweet flavor more of this semi tart roasted malt. Very good mouthfeel, a touch oily. Great roasty finish, lots of espresso, and burnt malts. A nice porter, but not great.

Pours deep black with a rich, thick brown head. Sweet chocolate and roasted malt aromas. Bittersweet taste with roasted malt and chocolate flavors with a hit of alcohol. Lingering smokey finish is quite satisfying. Great beer, amazing flavor profile!

Oh my god! These Chocodiles, Francine. Oh my god, these Chocodiles, Oh my God. Is pretty much what comes to mind when I drink this beer, but change chocodiles to Porter Baltique, and Francine to Les Trois Mousquettaires. . . .doesnt really have the same kind of flow, but im sure you get the picture. This beer is epic. Pours thick and dark, pretty much motor oil. The aroma is really good, well made coffee, chocolate, something sour....black currents? molasses, awesomeness. The flavour is equally as awesome, coffee, chocolate, raisins, red wine, cherries, black currants, more chocolate and anise in the finish. Flippin fantastic.

This was good. Lots of dried fruit, chocolate and brown sugar in the aroma with a bit of a herbal/spicy note. It is quite sweet and quite boozy. I split the 750ml bottle with a friend and would happily have drunk another.

750ml bottle Well...this is probably one of my favourite porter/stouts Ive yet had. Its a beautiful beer in a beautiful bottle. Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma is earthy and hoppy with a lot of warm chocolate in there. In the mouth its silky and rich...chocolate, hops, earth, dirt, roasted malt sweetness. A little bit of alcohol but its in the backbone. Everything in its right place. "Like bathing in honey."

2011 Grande Cuve. Pours a deep, dark brown with a small coffee coloured head. Nose is blackcurrant, cherry, chocolate, and raisin. Simple and subdued, but pleasant. Mouth feel is medium-thin and very dry with good carbonation. Taste-wise, very sweet with roasted malts and dark fruit up front: blackcurrant, cherries, and black grapes; very winy. Underneath lies cherry syrup, black licorice, coffee, burnt toast, dark chocolate, a hint of smoke, and a slight metallic note. Booziness is pleasant, warming and hidden very nicely by the sweetness. Finish is long, dry and nicely bitter. A very delicious dessert brew.
