I know some will disagree, but this is my favorite beer so far. 10% of alcohol. in a 750ml format. It’s a winter beer. An explosion of flavors in your mouth. Drinking this is a wonderfull experience.
Of course, I would noy drink that on a hot summer day... jeremytoni (3082) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - MAR 27, 2012
From a bottle poured a dark brown color with a almost no head. Sweet malty flavor with a lingering aftertaste. ddemmingjr (800) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - MAR 27, 2012
Bottle from Rare Beer Club: pours extra dark, reddish brown, thin tan ring. Nose of red wine, vinegar, coffee, raisins, prunes and chocolate. Rich on the palate, dark fruits, cedar, chocolate, brown sugar, molasses, cotton candy and slightly sour and bitter on a long finish. Faint heat. Great Baltic.

750 ml. corked and caged bottle. Pours a thick, lasting beige head, with some lacing, over a dark brown (SRM 35) clear body....nose is heavy chocolate, hints of coffee, strong toffee/caramel, big dried fruits (plums, cherries, raisins).....taste is chocolate, very heavy dried cherry, heavy toffee/caramel, brown sugar, hints of molasses, smoke and cocoanut, bitterness minimal....mouth feel thick, sticky, alcohol hidden, carbonation low. This confection can be little but a Baltic Porter. It has a very dominantly sweet malt back bone, with all the rich layers of the malts, with minimal hop aroma, flavor and bitterness. It is overly sweet to me. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7 blutt59 (6573) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 9, 2012

UPDATED: MAR 9, 2012 2011 Vintage. 10%. Lots of roast, bitter chocolate and a little vanilla in the aroma. Flavor is sweet chocolate and bites on the palate. Finishes silky with a subtle carbonation. A little too sweet. Well done but leaves something to be desired. I’d like to age another to allow some of the sweetness to mellow and let some flavor develop and meld. slimspady (219) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 8, 2012
APPEARANCE: jet black, couple fingers tan head. Dissipates quickly but not much carbonation. SMELL: woody, vanilla, chocolate, coffee. Great first impression. TASTE: a dark roastiness at the start with some chocolate hanging around. Nicely sweet. Cherries and vanilla. Is it possible to be chocolate and vanilla?! A little bitterness creeps in late. Complexity is out of control. (thats good). PALATE: not heavy, smooth, easy to drink, but you can feel it warming all the way down. Dont think Ive ever tasted a beer thats felt like that before. This is phenomenal. These guys never disappoint. 2 thumbs up. Gethinbeer (2452) - Nova Scotia, CANADA - MAR 3, 2012
Jet black colour. Thin off white head which quickly dissipates. Vinegar aroma. Rich flavour of fruit and chocolate. Harsh finish. May have gone past its date. Would love to sample again fresh. Metalchopz (3447) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 1, 2012
Not sure where I bought this one, but has been in my cellar a while. "Édition Limitée, Automne 2008" written instead of "Grand Cuvée". Pours a real dark colour with little red highlights. The head is beige-brown coloured, decent sized, frothy, has good retention and leaves a bit of lace. The aromas are strong with some plums, raisins, coffee, molasses and hints of chocolate. Beautiful silky smooth and even a little creamy mouthfeel with absolutely no burning. You can really taste the roasted malts in the flavours, giving that burnt smokiness that lingers. A very nice light bitterness holds up, with the coffee and chocolate. Notes of cherries are very well-hidden as well. Quite happy I have held on to this one, but will have to try a more up-to-date version to see if it is as smooth and easy to drink. Would of never known this was a 10% ABV brew if it was not written.
