COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike typical porters, our Baltic Porter is brewed in the traditional style as a bottom-fermenting lager. The result is a luxuriously round, but robust, black beer with a mild bitterness. A special blend of roasted malts provides this porter with flavors and aromas of chocolate and coffee, and you’ll enjoy it’s subtle hints of cherry-smoked malt.

Bottle from glouglouglouburrrrrp. Dry doughy cocoa with a big molasses and dark chocolate kick. Sweet syrupy dark chocolate cut nicely by bitter cocoa and tangy plum skins. Pretty good.

The pour is almost entirely black. Hints of brown are distinguishable in the body. Head started as 2-3 fingers of tan and ends with almost no head at all. The aroma is a sweet chocolate and coffee roasted complexion. Nice alcohol on the nose mixes well with the other dark aromas. The taste starts as a sweet coffee, chocolate and roasted toffee. Ends with a brutal alcohol burn and espresso bitterness. Very nice taste. Smooth and syruppy mouthfeel with full body. Moderate carbonation and extremely nice lacing. This is truly one of the best beers I have had the joy of tasting in 2010.

Pretty darn good porter. Un autre excellent produit Québecois. Si les 3M SE concentre sur ce genre de bière, on pourrait assister à de bonne bière.

Via trade with Savvy1982. Pours solid black with a rich creamy brown head. Aroma of caramel and mild smoke. Taste is strong, lots of malt body, some smoke again and dark chocolate or coffee bitterness on the finish. Very smooth and creamy.

750mL bottle, sent from Glouglouburp, pours black with a small tan head. Chocolate, roasted malt and espresso on the nose, with a smoky quality as well. Flavour is extremely well-rounded and rich - typical for this brewer - with chocolate malts, substantial roasted notes, light espresso, and a subtle cherry-like fruitiness. Slightly bitter finish, with the alcohol undetectable. Most excellent.

claudeius (17) - Chambly, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 24, 2010
Torrefied malt and dark chocolate aromas with a hint of liquorice. Smooth texture with low carbonation leads the way to dark chocolate flavors, yielding quickly to a torrefied coffee taste and an ending in strong alcohol and slight toffee hints. There’s a nice light bitterness throughout the tasting process which makes for this beer’s unique profile. Perfect fall beer next to the fireplace waiting for the game to begin ... as i am now!!!!

Tap at Volo (in cask). Masterpiece. Aromas of coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and very long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, head disappears.

Bottle. Pours viscous black. Tan head, spotty lacing. Nose is chocolate, licorice, ash, creosote, super-classy smoke notes too. Flavours of smoke, cherries, chocolate, creamy malt notes, super dark roast coffee, very rich and flavorful, and magnificent. One of the finest brews that I’ve had in a long while.

Sampled at Vice et Versa in Montreal. Pours a solemn black with light brown head. Aroma is coffee, cocoa, port, caramel. Taste is deep and rewarding with thick mocha like notes, licorice, caramel. Excellent.

750 ml bottle, 2009. Pours jet black with a 2 finger thick head thats the color of a brown paper bag. Not much in the way of lace. Sweet caramel & chocolate aroma. Very enticing. Creamy, moderately thick palate. A pleasure to drink. Taste is molasses, bakers chocolate, pumpernickel, licorice, roasted nut and a somewhat bitter finish. Very nice porter.
