Tranquillity (2484) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 31, 2017
Bottled. The body is dark brown with a small beige head. The aroma is cognac. The taste is hoppy and malty.

Whatup14 (2140) - Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, CANADA - AUG 27, 2017
Bouteille 341ml. Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka crémeuse. Arôme de malt torréfié, levure, chocolat noir. Goût de malt torréfié, petits fruits, chocolat noir. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen-faible.

wombat23 (1665) - Texas, USA - MAY 27, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Pours an extremely dark amber color with a small beige head. Aroma of dark malts and stone fruits with some coffee notes. Taste is dark malt, a bit of dark fruit, faint coffee. Not much roast or chocolate present and perhaps a little thin at the finish.

papat444 (136) - Carignan, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 13, 2017
Appearance: Very black body with a thick, 3 finger tan head. Smell: Burnt, roasted coffee beans with bitterness, a little acrid. Not entirely inticing. Taste: Strong bitterness in the fore, almost overwhelming. Bitter chocolate and coffee are present. Tastes a little like chewing on coffee beans. Mouthfeel: Coarseness continues but mellows a bit as it warms. Just a little malt but coffee permeates the palate giving it kind of a rough edge.

bunget (1010) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 3, 2016
341ml bottle. Visually appealing beer. Dark cola body, small tan head with average retention. Intense aroma of roasted nuts, roasted malt, smoked prunes, chocolate. Equally satisfying taste: well done toast, smoked prunes, dried berries, roasted nuts. Very interesting, lots of flavor for the style.

asheft (3108) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 7, 2016
[bottle from someone in the MoB] Aroma is creamy and heavy with molasses, toasted hazelnuts, and a very slight roasted barley vanilla. Opaque black with ruby highlights and a dense, tan foam that dissipates to a ring after a while. Complex dark grain flavour of bitter chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and licorice, with accents of red fruit and a lagery bitter finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation, relatively smooth. Very tasty, but a far cry from a Schwarzbier.

ametras (1709) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 27, 2015
341ml bottle. Clear dark mahogany with a foamy beige head. Flavors are roasted cereals, molasses, chocolate, coffee and caramel with fruity notes. Light to medium body, prickly carbonation, smooth texture.

Edevost (22) - Quebec, CANADA - JUL 12, 2015

cargo150 (1289) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 27, 2015
Couleur noire avec un col beige respectable. Aromes de café, chocolat, caramel. Ca manque un peu de corps. C’est correct mais sans plus!

fugitive (2037) - Athens, GREECE - JAN 18, 2015
Bottle. Color dark brown with big head. Aroma malt, some coffee, chocolate. Taste sweet, malt, coffee, chocolate.
