UPDATED: OCT 27, 2010 Bière rousse de 5% de type vienna, mousseuse et pétillante, un peu malté et un peu houblonné, bel équilibre. Eyedrinkale (3214) - Astoria, New York, USA - NOV 4, 2004
UPDATED: AUG 10, 2005 This company now sits in the same location as Bièropholie. I went there looking for impy stout and calumet and walked out wondering if Bièropholie was out of business. The owner/brewer had worked for Unibroue as well as a few other places, a real cool guy. On to the beer. I was really hoping this stuff was as good as the beers that probably flowed through it’s veins at one point in time. Both beers especially this one are very good. For a Vienna, excellent. Just the right maltiness. Just a mellow hoppiness and a lot of grains in the flavor. brouemaster (5) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 2, 2007 does not count
Belle couleur, brillante, belle mousse. Rafraichissante, amertume intéressante, goût intéressant de caramel, notes fumée. Rondeur moyenne, longueur moyenne amère et fumée. fiulijn (20427) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 24, 2011
Bottle from Firefly, Vancouverhopscotch (11051) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 15, 2005
Cloudy dark amber color. Peculiar aroma, very nutty, roasted nuts mainly; some cardboard. Good body strength, round mouthfeel, with a good malt, roasted malt and caramel flavor, again with an evident nutty edge. Correct bitterness. Very good.
Bottle... Clear, copper lager with a small, fizzy, white head. Dark fruit, black tea, light molasses and light chocolate are blended perfectly in the nose. The flavor is full of dark fruit, black tea, toffee and orange blossom honey. Medium-bodied and oily with mild carbonation. Finishes bitter-sweet and lightly dry. Thanks goes out to Matta for sharing.

Pours copper red. Thin head on it.Strong aroma of Vienna malt. The flavour is rich and fruity, malty and sweet. With a slightly citrus hop finish. I think this is a very good beer. extremely_loud (10) - Montréal, CANADA - DEC 4, 2013
Consommée en bouteille de 341ml. Goût de caramel, légèrement brûlé. Pas parfaite, mais plaira à une majorité. bunget (964) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 29, 2016
Bottle. Clear amber body, medium dense beige head with good retention. Aroma of honey, grains, caramel, nuts, some mineral notes, a tad floral. Taste of grains, caramel, apricot jam, a touch of roasted nuts, mineral water. Textbook Vienna. rederic (3335) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 17, 2005
Bright amber color, soft foamy head, but falls quickly, spiny, nutmeg, toffee, nutty grain and caramelized aromas follow through on a medium-bodied palate, with clean caramelized malt, a nut accent, grainy, roasted character in a fruity light hops finish. matta (1140) - Tampa, Florida, USA - JUL 17, 2005
Thanks to EyeDrinkAle for sending this one stateside!
I sampled this bottle with Eric the other night… we were both a bit taken back by how sweet and malty this beers aroma and flavor was. Brought me a sweet caramel flavor with bold toffee suggestions. Very fruity: plumes, and raisins, pancake syrup… some chewing tobacco. Nutty, hazelnut and walnut a in full effect! Very malty, little hops to be found maybe some slight lemongrass in the finish. Palate was nothing unordinary…. Nice beer!
