2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Purchased at de Bier Tempel in Brussels, Belgium; enjoyed at home in Chicago prior to seeing Quicksand. When I opened this, carbonation almost popped the cap, so I’m pretty happy this didn’t explode in my luggage on my way back to the states. Appearance is a very cloudy bright gold with an extremely rich, puffy white head...kinda looks like a mimosa. Aroma of rose pedals, someone mentioned "cheap perfume" and I agree, as well as a touch of sourness and Belgian yeast. Taste is not particularly good in my opinion, definitely flowery but the carbonation is just too much for me and I think this is going to give me a ripping headache. Oh well.
Pours clear blonde, small white head fades to 0 instantly. Smell is yeasty, with a sweet sidetone. Taste is bitter, sweet. Sugar, yes, but indeed roses, bit red fruits even. Very sugary. Not bad, per se, but way to sweet for me ... thewolf (12631) - Kolding, DENMARK - JAN 11, 2015
Bottle. Pours clear amber golden with a small, creamy, white head. Aroma has lots of flowers, soap, sugar. Medium carbonation, fine oily and fat mouthfeel. Flavour is very sweet and sticky, floral, sugar, vinious. Extremely sweet. wekker84 (2390) - etten-leur, NETHERLANDS - DEC 12, 2014

Rose version in this 2009 flower beer series, with snow white head and misty, orange blonde robe. Strong honey aroma, rosewater, gooseberry, pear, vanilla. Dryish fruity onset quickly turning explicitly sweet (vanilla, honey), strange rosewater taste, very much perfumed, bready malts, low carbonation, smooth, finish cloyingly sweet with low hop bitterness. Too sweet for my taste. Beerhunter111 (21309) - P´Castle, GERMANY - MAY 4, 2014

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy golden colour with huge, frothy, diminishing, white head. Sweetish, floral, slightly artificial fruity aroma, hints of raspberry, a touch of anise. Taste is sweet, slightly artificially fruity, perfumed, a floral touch; oily, sticky palate. Way too sweet. jookos (6875) - FINLAND - JAN 29, 2014
Bottle. Yellow hazy. Buttery popcorny malts, some stone fruits, and with a little bit of imagination, rose petals. Strange. As I’m aware of what it is, I do get some flowery associations. But not really good ones, rather like flowers that’s been sitting in the same water for weeks Sweet sweet body, but bitter too. This is precisely the sort of stuff I try to stay away from. pivnizub (10663) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 3, 2014
Bouteille:Golden, cloudy, stable and creamy off-white head, sweet orangey-yeasty nose with some phenolic-fruity aromas; pretty sweet flavour, almost cloying, medium to full bodied, sticky;very sweet citrus-fruity finish. Nasty caries-producing stuff… berntholer (1617) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - DEC 8, 2013
ivorywhite head disappears without lacing. blonde colour. aroma of flowers, violets and roses (in your face!), also some slight brett-funk. taste like aroma and sweet as sugar. medium body and carbonation. interesting experience, but not a good beer, hypersweet. abv is well hidden though. bottle 33 cl / bbf may-2015 Benzai (15768) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - AUG 24, 2013
Bottle @ home. Clear orange color, medium sized white head. Smell malts, some herbs or spices. Taste is very weird: herbs, spices, a weird kind of fruityness, sweetish. I’m not gonna finish this bottle. Far from the worst I’ve ever tasted but I just don’t like it.
