Dark amber with a thick head and lacing. Belgian yeast, caramel and nutty aroma. Taste is spicey with burned notes, medium sweet and light bitter.

Tried in bottle from Real Ale Newark. Deep chestnut to ruby colour with a thick tan head. Malty and toffee aroma with plum bread. Taste malty toffee sweet. Medium to full body.

At Cambrinus, Bruges. Pours hazy dark brown with a big, foamy, off-white head. Comes in a nice tumbler with wooden holder. The aroma contains roasted malt, nuts, chocolate, yeast, bread and dark fruits. It tastes light to medium sweet and light bitter; rather short, but subtle and light roasted finish. Medium body, slick to watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Taste is somewhat restrained, too subtle. Goes well with a meat dish, though.

Aromat estrowy (gruszka, brzoskwinia, leciutki banan), fenolowy, karmel, skórka od chleba. W smaku podobnie - wybijają się estry. Przypomina Dubbla z melanoidynami.

Pours a huge frothy head and has a dark amber appearance. Leaves some pretty thick dirty lacing. Aromas of dark roasted malts, bready malts and earthy hops. Flavours of roasted malts, caramel and toasty notes. Some slight buttery hints. Medium retetntion, average carbonation. Not too bad but a little disappointed.

Butelka. Aromat ciemnego chleba, melanoidyny, ciemne słody. W smaku cienkie, goryczka bardzo niska do żadnej. Pijalne.

Aroma is similar to a belgian dubbel: plums, caramel and some bread notes. Taste is quite sweet and even hoppy

Dark amber to brown colour with a nice, dense head and lacing. The aroma is quite weak, there’s Belgian yeast and some caramel. The taste is dark malts, caramel, burnt bread. It’s a bit spicy and a bit sour from the yeast. Medium bitterness makes the beer rather dry. Alcohol well-hidden. A decent combination of Belgian style and bock.
