Nitro tap at the brewery. Well, sure, it looks great. Black, fine, dense head. Smells like chocolate and coffee, as expected, but kinda faint. Flavor is nice mix of traditional stout flavors, as well. Palate is typical nitro - seems rich but somehow turns watery as you drink it. Does anyone else experience this with nitro beers?
Drinking the knuckle. Black with tiny brown head. Smooth creamy and rather hoppy for a stout. Good stuff. Poured from tap as part of a sampler at Lexington brewery in Asheville hellbilly (3306) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 30, 2012
on tap at lab 7/15/11.
dark porter color...brownish black with red at the edges and a nitro khaki head.
aromas of ash, roast, charcoal, lactose, a little grass and not much else.
the flavor is the same plus some earthy nuttiness but it doesn’t stray far from those notes. lots of roasty depth and tons of dryness.
the mouth feel is slick and easy to put back magsinva (1425) - Virginia, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Tap @ LAB - pour a slow settling brown that clears to the traditional black with a tan head. Served too cold so I’m getting chocolate, coffee, and bread, but they are not as strong as they should be. Taste is a sweet toasty chocolate with a dry clean finish. Great lacing on the glass, even after agitation. Overall, an average stout. DiarmaidBHK (5900) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 28, 2011
Draft at Lexington avenue brewery. The nitro’s not doing anything for me. It doesn’t add any creaminess. Pours dark dark brown with a thin slowly arriving khaki head. A bit of malt on the nose. A bit of caramel on the tongue. Finishes clean. A bit of a dud for me.

A "guinness" pour. Head as smooth as a 70s Loggins record. Aroma a bit muted but chocolate and coffee. Flavor contains mostly coffee and chocolate. Not bad but why nitro why? Elwood (3347) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - AUG 13, 2011
Serving: Draft at the brewpub. It pours pretty much pitch black with a nice creamy head on it. The nose is dull due to the nitrogen I presume. The flavor is very smooth with nice roasted malt and coffee notes. My favorite of the brews I tried there. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - AUG 13, 2011
Nitro. Black body, tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, some bittersweet chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, grapefruit, some coffee, chocolate. Medium body, low carbonation.
