Poured a deep cranberry red with white head. Wiley-woody aroma. Wine dominated flavor with a light Brett and wood touch. Quite delicious but the beer characters are all but completely overwhelmed by this wine bomb.

Dark amber color. The aroma is deep, it blends dark amlt with delicate coffee and light barrel. The flavor is a bit too earthy, quite thin, which enhances the bozziness; dry finish.
Not very good, very unbalanced.
750ml bottle @ the office. Pours a dark brown with a light beige head. Nose is dark fruits, sour Brett, some funk, and barrel notes. Flavour has a strong barrel character, with a rather unsweetened molasses and brett mix going on. It seems rather light bodied for what it is, but then again it isn’t boozy though there is a bitter woody finish.

750ml bottle (thx, Alex G.!) shared at Brian’s office. Pours a very dark brown with a weak tan head. Aroma is winey and slightly woody. Similar taste with caramel and woody notes. Quite good.

Medium brown with a golden-brown colour. There is a fair bit of barrel - strong woody - notes but also a lot of toffeeish malt notes. It picks up some fairly rough bitterness, definitely that rich toffee molasses note, but I’d say the brett c doesn’t show through that much. I’d argue it’s a touch thin, despite its sugars, but otherwise has it’s a nice old ale. Boutip (6692) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 31, 2017
Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a quite large off-white foamy head with OK retention and light lacing. Aroma of caramelized sugar with fruity ester and oak presence is somewhat unique and enticing. Taste is a great mix of caramelized sugar notes with some fruity ester, light funky notes with some residual sugar notes and string oak presence. UPDATED: OCT 18, 2016 Pours a dark reddish brown with a medium beige-ish head that leaves nice lacing. Nose is of burnt sugar, alcohol (a little raw), wood and something that could be called red wine. Taste is of pretty intense wood and almost wood grain alcohol with more red white, caramel and toffee. I wouldn’t call it too sweet, almost perfect for such a sipper actually. The overall experience is a bit rought and unrefined, though, with just too much wood. Body is medium-full, carbonation very low and mouthfeel assuredly vinous. Way more palatable than their Cab barrel-aged Saison Multigrain but certainly not a homerun. A small glass would have been plenty, not sure what I’m going to do with the rest of this bottle...
