Yes it was brown but with a deep blush of red. Aromas of dark candied peel, spice and... and... well it was served a little cold to reveal its full and complex palate. Its taste brought out rye, spice, grains and some deeper, spruce and herbal hoppiness. Slightly prickly in countenance, but one that I enjoyed, despite chewing my way through it. Draft at Pomeroy’s. dark variegated amber brown color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of spiced brown bread mixed with Christmas fruitcake. Aroma of spiced pumpernickel, toffee, dates, raisins. Delicious. Stew41 (2081) - Phuket, THAILAND - JUL 13, 2013

Sorry for the lack of info but that was all I had. Pours quite a murky brown with a generous head. Roasted coffee on the nose. Get a bit of scotch malts on the palate.
