On tap at Liberty Street. Now up to 10%. Deep brown pour with an off-white head. Sweet molasses aroma. Flavor has sweet molasses and caramel, red grape, honey, toffee, vanilla. Definitely a high gravity beer, but really tasty and drinkable. Kind of more an imperial brown ale to me than a porter. katrinaez (2412) - norristown, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 16, 2016
Light odd aroma, a but dirty scent. Dark brown black color. Flavor is sweet and a light honey concept but wouldn’t have guessed honey. Slight bitter. Nice mouth feel.tap JohnDV (1) - Canton, Michigan, USA - JUN 27, 2015 does not count
Love this beer. Very sweet, as expected with honey porter but not overwhelming. allisonf (1) - canton, - AUG 23, 2014 does not count

Draft sample at MBGSF 12. Poured a hazy light brown color with an average frothy light brown head that was mostly lasting and fair lacing. Moderate toasted sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium toasted sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Sweet drinkable beer.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate honey, light-moderate nuts, and light chocolate. It’s a dark brown that is more of an orangish-brown with some transparency when held to the light and a half inch, large bubbled, khaki head. The flavor starts with light chocolate before a moderate-strong honey sweetness comes through with a touch of grape. The finish is light-moderate nuttiness and a touch of roast. Light-medium bodied with minimal carbonation and somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Silphium (3269) - Traverse City, Michigan, USA - MAR 11, 2010
5th Annual MBG Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Murky medium/dark brown body, thin/medium cream head. Tart nose with roasted malts and honey; honey is more apparent in the body, balanced by toast, roasted malts, and coffee. Bitter finish. I think I’ll be visiting Liberty Street sometime soon. MiBG Summer Fest 2009, Friday Session: Medium brown hue with a good lasting frothy head. The aroma has notes of herbal honey, chocolate, walnuts, pear and apricot esters and any earthy yeast element. The taste is malty and twangy, good overall balance with a simple dry finish that displays the nutty porter at the base. The mouth feel is refreshing and smooth. A solid slightly sweeter porter.
