(11-Nov-13) Biggish pine spice fruit and light malt aroma. Brown cloudy colour, ordinary head and suds lacing. Biggish hop spicy, slight aniseed and toffee malt flavour. Medium bitter spiced hop finish and pine fruit aftertaste. Rangi (672) - NEW ZEALAND - OCT 26, 2013
Deep clear copper. Aroma is of sweet malt and hops. Flavour is sweet fruity hops some bitterness but not huge which is nice I don’t like it when the beer is overly syrupy and sweet. ComradeK (1256) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - SEP 27, 2013
500ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep copper, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves decent lacing. Resin, grapefruit and herbal hops notes sit over a base of toffee and nutty malt to create the aroma. Strong grapefruit and resin hops up front are tempered by mild berry notes. The resin becomes stronger leading into the mid-palate, where it mixes with toffee and buttered toast malt. Strong grapefruit and mild herbal hops in the finish give it a nice bitter kick at the end. This is a very enjoyable red ale, with a strong hops thread running through it. Maris (1572) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - SEP 25, 2013
From a 500ml bottle on 25/9/2013. Pours a slightly cloudy reddy amber with a medium head which dissipates quickly. The aroma features lots of fruity hops and heaps of toffee. The flavour is quite unusual with caramel and toffee malt, sweet dark and citrus fruit, some nuttiness, a bit of honey, and a firm bitterness with a bit of grapefruit in the mix. The body is quite full, with the texture quite slick, and the carbonation moderate. I wasn’t entirely convinced by this at the start, but it won me over by the finish. Very nice stuff. sockless (21) - NEW ZEALAND - SEP 23, 2013
Deep amber colour, with an off white, creamy head. Toffee, pine aroma. Medium carbonation. Pine, caramel and biscuit taste, somewhat sweet. Very smooth and drinkable, well bodied.
