Our alcoholic Ginger Beer...uprooted from the ground, steeped for as long as it takes. ’... living on this beach, surfing and selling and surviving like we want to and we shot a few hundred foot of 16mm somewhere from Olivia’s Place, Soul Kitchen, all the way down to Venice Beach... never knew how much ginger beer we brewed in any of the houses around the neighbourhood, but we took whatever we could carry under the pier, until it burnt down again along with some of... ’ Lick Pier is made with the same inspiration and ginger that has always produced the spice and dryness that we wanted.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a cloudy straw colour with short fizzy head. Ginger and slightly zesty aroma. Flavour is all ginger, sweet but not super sweet which is a refreshing change from the other ginger beers on the market at the moment. Touch of zesty tang. Crisp and very refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

660mL bottle from local BWS - and various places around Melbourne Looks like what you’d expect - cloudy ginger body, some bubbles. Spicy nose, good intensity of ginger root - gets up the nostrils! Some undertones of apple and brown sugar. Medium body, smooth unfiltered sort of texture, restrained carbonation. Some sweetness upfront, good amount of fresh/refreshing ginger root flavour, Warming finish. Nice ginger beer - certainly one of the better out there!

Bottle. Cloudy, golden, medium sweetness, light body, sticky, soft carbonation, & abrupt finish.

Bottle from Slowbeer (Feb 2014). Cloudy pale straw, a nice ginger beer, maybe just a bit sweet, could use a bit more yeast character.

Lappy (33) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 29, 2014
The syrupy sugary coated flavours that come through just do not balance at all with the ginger essence that appears to be used in this very poor back yard produced product. Look elsewhere for a better ginger beer folks. PS. they should stick to surfing if thats their background...

This is a good ginger beer. Nice and zingy with plenty of dry ginger. A little bit of citric sweetness but mainly a dry drop which is a nice change from the sweet gingers out there. Enjoyable

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2016 Poured a clouded pale brown colour (looks like a typical ginger beer) with no head or collar and no lace. Carbonation very low and fine. Aroma spicy of good strong fresh ginger. Taste moderately sweet and of quite spicy fresh ginger. Light body. Finishes with a nice ginger bite on the tongue.

Pours a cloudy light amber colour with no head. Aroma is pretty much all ginger with hints of other fruits. Taste is pretty much all ginger, too. It’s basically a ginger beer soft drink with a bit of alcohol. OK.

ALLOVATE (3063) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - DEC 16, 2012
Muddy, sandy yellow with big, adhesive bubbles that pop audibly to atmosphere. Plenty of spice, plenty of earth and plenty of general ginger nuances on the nose with a subtle bready edge. Super sweet, almost like icing sugar with a burst of orange citrus that lingers in the swallow. Good and lasting ginger burn yet the ginger flavour itself seems be cloaked, it’s more a citrus RTD than a ginger beer, but sheesh it is easy drinking. Ultra-featherweight body with good bounce and crisp to the last drop. An inoffensive and refreshing quaffer! (66cL, 23/07/13, Mane Liquor)

Davros (3282) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 22, 2012
Pours hazy straw/amber with a zero head. Hefty ginger on the nose, plenty of spice. Little else. Smells very sweet. Just as sweet tasting, a fair bit of ginger with some burn. It is what it is, I guess, pretty one-dimensional but pretty enjoyable. Could use a richer body.
