Aged in Nicaraguan Flora de Cana Rum Barrels for over 12 weeks, the Batchelors Delight is a unique and delicious Belgian-Style Quadrupel Ale. Tasting Notes: Plum, raisin, vanilla and rum Serve at 55 degrees and pairs exceptionally well with roasted lamb.

Bottle... Pours murky and brown with a small, creamy, taupe head that’s gone faster than you can say “quick.” The aroma is toasty, dusty and loaded with dark fruits - dried plums and dates. Full-bodied with soft carbonation. Tastes like a quad, but this lacks the usually accompanying sweetness. This is packed with caramel and dark fruits with some modest rum barrel flavor and heat. Tap. Deep dark brown with some ruby hints. Dark fruit, some sweet prune, toffee, caramel, figgy and malty aroma. Flavor starts pleasant with fig, but turns slightly bitter, with toffee and some solvent alcohol notes, and a rum-like finish. Medium slick chewy body. Smells nice, just missed on the flavor.

750ml bottle, dark brown color, with a fluffy tan-coloured head, with a mild rum oak barrel, mocha, dark dried fruits aroma, with a light rum fruitcake, toasted, special b, caramel malty accent, and a faint chocolate cup filled with rum, chocolate taffy, subtle Grand Marnier liqueur when it warms up, subtle orange blood peel note in the aroma follows through a medium-bodied palate, with a mild warmth fruity rum barrel, light toasted, caramel, bready, roasted malty, fruitcake character, with some candied orange blood rind, fruity yeast, semi-sweet chocolate baking bar, faint chocolate cup filled with rum and Cointreau orange peel liqueur, leading towards a warming fruity rum liquor, fruitcake, mild chocolate finish.

750 mL bottle from Grape & Gourmet, Virginia Beach (2016 bottle). Muddy brown pour with a frothy khaki head. Rum, raisin, and oak are strong on the nose with a heavy booze prominence. Prune, green raisin, plum, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, chocolate, tobacco, black rum, and oak are all part of the intricate flavor. Finish is sweet with a smooth mouthfeel and mild warmth. An outstanding and unique quad.

Bottle shared at Craft. Hazy blackish pour with tan head. Nose was dark fruit,plum, vanilla, rum. Dry, floral nose, more hops and tropical fruit in the taste.

750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of toffee, dried fruit, rum,oak and light pipe tobacco. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, dried fruit, rum, light tobacco and light oak with a smooth lingering rum finish.

Sampled at GABF 2015. In the sample glass was cloudy brown with a beige head. Nose of dark ripe fruit and rum. Medium in body. Flavor is big on the rum and the fruit is flavorful. Finishes wth oak. rum, and more rum. Quite boozy. But good.

murky chestnut, thin cream head. Stale brown malt nose, light dough, soft and faintly sweet. Heavy sweetness up front, some ash and caramel mid before moderate cardboard oxidation.

750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Dark brown with a finger of bubbly light tan head. Aromas of rum, oak and wood, light spice and dark fruit. Tastes of caramel, dark fruit, rum, oak, a little roasty note, some booze. Medium body with a dry and warm finish.
