COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bourbon Barrel German Chocolate Cake is LCCB’s first example of a barrel aged lager. Lagers ferment for longer periods of time than ales and at much colder temperatures. Bourbon Barrel German Chocolate Cake is dark in color and deliciously innovative. Brewed with German Specialty Grains and German Hops, we aged it in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels and cold conditioned it on coconut, pecans, coco nibs and vanilla.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Dark brown with a tall, fizzy tan head. Aroma is chocolate and coconut with toasted malt, roasted nuts and vanilla. Taste is chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla, toasted nuts, sweet malt, toasted malt and a touch of booze. Body is medium with a moderate bubbly carbonation. Ends with more toasted cocnut, vnilla, sweet malt, chocolate and soft toasted nuts. Damn good!

750 ml bottle poured into a tulip. Aromas of big coconut, whiskey, roasted pecans. Tastes of bourbon, caramel, dark chocolate, malt, light coconut. Medium body with a dry finish. Better than expected, aroma was pretty spot on for me.

10 or 16 ounce (don’t remember) pour at Mekong. Poured a very dark brown color, almost like a porter with a nice tan head. Lots of dark chocolate notes, bitter chocolate. Lots of roasted malts. Smooth bourbon barrel notes. Light vanilla notes. Didn’t get a whole lot of coconut, but that’s okay. Lots of depth in this one.
