COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Heir Apparent is an imperial stout with a complex caramel soul tempered by a chocolate and roasty undertone. Sweeter in style than Russian Imperial stouts at only 60 IBUs but balanced by the heat of fresh Mexican peppers, vanilla and cacao nibs. The Heir Apparent is ambitiously biding his time until he comes to power. His time will come.

Pours opaque chocolate brown with a fair light tan head. Aroma presents peppery, roast malt and mocha notes. Flavor delivers roast malt, coffee, peppery and chocolate tones - The pepper is not overwhelming, just "Hello there." Mouthfeel offers good body, lively fizz, and a subtle peppery finish. Rating #2018. $12.49 bomber from Market Street Wine Shop, Uptown. Pours black with an inch and a half of dark brown head. Heavy chocolate aroma, mild green vegetation. Taste is delicious milk chocolate right away - sweet milk chocolate, followed by raisins, caramel, vanilla, and light pepper notes. Not a whole lot of heat - but there’s a tiny burn at the very back end. This is a winner.

Bottle. Jet black, fluffy dark tan head. Cocoa powder, chocolate, slight coffee and dark fruit with some slight savor notes. Not catching much of the pepper until the finish and only lightly so with some late heat, mostly cocoa powder, chocolate cake and slight sweet dark fruit. Body is medium and soft and fluffy.
