COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class

Bottle, pours red with a pinkish head. Cherries, light sour, a bit shallow but enjoyable.

Sample. Red/brown with medium, beige head. Aroma is straight forward but intensive with noted of cherry, tart and some little spice. Medium strong carbonation with creamy texture. Taste is narrow and more or less Cherry/Tart/Sugar/Clove. Still delicious for cooking but a bit too sweet to quench the thirst.

75 Cl bottle bought in Brussels on the way home from Marseille. A fully invoiceable beer. Pours deep Ruby Red with a Pinkish White head. Plenty of tart cherry sweetness on the aroma. Lovely tart cherry flavour. Plenty acidic. Light on the finish. Its delicious.

Bottle. Nose is tart, cherry, back of the cupboard must, slight cheese. Taste is cherry, cherry syrup, vanilla, sugar, sweet almonds, bread, raspberry, wood, marzipan, very little sour or depth. Its been years since Ive troubled myself with a Liefmans as Ive found them little better than alcopops in the main. This was as I remembered, sweet and shallow; Im baffled by the warm reviews this has received from some on here.
