This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

Bottle from Beer Cartel 120916. While this beer doesn’t look all that great the flavour certainly more than makes up for it. Tart cherry with a big sour aftertaste and the slightest hint of something sweet as well.

Ruby brown with a small light tan head and nice lacing. Rich aroma of cherries and cherry pits, caramel, dried apples, hints of spice and funk. Tastes medium sweet and sour, very light crispy bitterness in the finish. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, fairly sticky. Amazing aroma, but I wish it was dryer.

33cl bottle at home. Appearance: deep ruby red with medium light pink head. Aroma: sour nose with notes of cherries and slight strawberry and some leather far away. Taste: heavy sweetness and low bitterness with pleasant tartness. Strong cherry and blueberries. Palate: medium bodied, sticky texture and soft carbonation.

Bottle from bierlinie in Berlin. Pours deep Red. Smells of Cherry, Great Cherry Taste with a Hint of Red grape. Heavy carbonation, but doesn’t interfere with the taste at all. Not too sweet, not too sour. Only the aftertaste is not perfect, a bit to rash in the throat. Such a great beer.

Vells (1857) - Rīga, LATVIA - AUG 15, 2016
Quite lovely fresh cherries, cherry stones, dried fruits, bit too one dimensional sour with light sweetness. Decent

ManVsBeer (10650) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2016
Bottle from Tesco, Burnley, as Cuvee Brut. Cloudy dark cherry-red with an extremely thin head. Has an initial sweetened cherry taste, with a small sourness in its aftertaste. There’s plenty of aroma.

Marjamehun värinen, vaaleanpunainen vaahto. Tuoksussa kirsikkaa ja marjoja. Maku marjaisa, mutta ei liian makea. Yllättävän hyvä. Jatkoa: Pidemmän päälle turhan makea ja kirsikkainen jälkimaku.

Rebranded shmancy 33cl bottle, BL4 sampler - this used to be available at my grandmother’s and the corner pub in beautifully handwrapped paperfoil 37,5cl bottles - thanks Palm Craft Breweries for putting your goldrimmed Trump stamp on it. - Bref: manages to uphold the shine of natural cherry among the enhanced and finetuned artificial Haribo aromas, with a strong current of Oud Bruin running underneath. - Zestiness of lemonade meets juicy cherry, brown balsamics adding some lure. - Bitter almond adds a touch of class to the obvious kitsch. A hard sell in any foreign country obsessed with natural flavours, but a very drinkable easy beer creation beyond Radler and Oude Kriek alike.
