This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

UPDATED: JAN 9, 2006 (Bottle 37,5 cl) 1992 vintage at 6,5 % ABV. Dark reddish brown, pinkish head. Sweet and sour, but more the latter and a rather unusual hoppiness. Brewed with whole cherries and not just extract. Loads of sediment - cherry pits...? 040993

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötliches Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr fruchtig, leicht säuerlich. Geschmack leicht säuerlich fruchtig, saure Kirschen.

Clear dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is quite sweet, light sour and cherries. Flavor is quite sweet and light sour. Dry and light acidic finish. Too sweet. 250511

Cloudy dark amber color with red hue; small creamy head. Light cherry aroma, mature. Good body, some malt and sweetness, with a good fruity level. A touch of acidity. Balanced.

Bottle at the Rose and Thistle, Frimley Green - 05/01/13. Pours a hazed russet brown/red with an off white head that clears to the edge. Nose is tarte cherries, sugars and a little burnt note to it. Taste comprises tarte/sour cherries, a little wood, sugars, burnt notes. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation, fruity finish. Too sweet and sugary for me, not enough tarte and sour.

harrisoni (18970) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - SEP 2, 2005
Draught at The Bohemian in Deal. Reddish ruby cloudy beer. BNose of sour cherries, taste is of cherries. Full in mouth. Excellent long lasting flavour of sour cherries and biting bitter hops. Superb

rlgk (18851) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - FEB 5, 2011
Draught at Tre Små Rum, Göteborg. Deep amber, small head. Sweet raspberry and cherry aroma, rubber notes. Sweet cherry flavor. Too sweet and simple to attract me.

mcberko (18390) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 21, 2010
375mL bottle, pours an odd dark purple-ish brown with a small beige head. Sour fruits, barnyard funk and potent citrus on the nose, like a gueuze. Flavour is more balanced with sweetness than the aroma suggests - with the initial citric sourness being later on balanced by sweet fruitiness. Very satisfying.

Nutty, earthy, and barnyardy, with a late-bursting fruitiness. Very nice...
