This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class

Dark red colour The 25cl bottle is more sour than the 37.5cl corked one (that one is more sweeter). A aroma of real cherries (not an artificial aroma), they didnt add to much sugar. A really good kriek. (Bottle 25cl,corked bottle 37.5cl)

Dark red body with a minimal white head. Aroma lightly acidic and sour with cherries. Very nice balance between the sourness and the sweetness. Great flavour with cherries.

Reddish brown with a dirty pink head, cider appearance, smells like a Flemish more than cherries, but cherries are there, a pleasant medley...yummy, a nice flavored Flemish...good effervescence, small bubbles...tasty finish refreshing yet malty, a creamy light paste left in the mouth...slightly one dimensional, yet balanced, its good I like it... thanx Wayne

375ml wrapped bottle, 6 North, Aberdeen. Pours dark dark red with a thin tan head subsiding average. Scent is slightly sour with a body of faint cherries. Taste is sparkly and very cherry bodied, with a slight smoky feeling. Finish is nice and bubbly with a dry aftertaste. Very good.

Bottle shared by plovmand. Pours a hazy reddish body with a small pink head. Aroma is sweet with notes of cherries, marzipan, a little caramel and vinegar. Its quite sweet flavoured as well, with notes of cherries, rock candy and a hint of oak. A little to sweet but nice.

Interesting pink/red colour. Low carbonation which lasts a long time. Nice lacing. The aroma is, surprisingly, dominated by krieky cherry. Taste is old sour ale at the start, with a musty finish. Very nice, super taste. Mouthfeel is OK; clean, not overwhelming.

375 split w/ dpjuart. A red-orange color with a very thin pinkish head. Nose of sweet fruity bread baking and cherries with a bit of a sour bite. A very sweet and sour cherry flavor, but surprisingly, it is the sweetness that stays on the tongue. Light and fizzy flavor of champagne with cherry liquor.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2009 Pours a bit of a translucent dark red color with a nice thick pink head which diminishes very quickly. The aroma is sour intermingled with cherries. The beer also smells of vinegar, a bit vinuous, and some nice earthy tones in there as well. The flavor is surprisingly sweet. There is a small hint of sour fruit and vinegar in the beer. A strong burst of cherry, but not overly so. The mouthfeel is nice with the lively carbonation. This is a very enjoyable sour ale.
