2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
UPDATED: DEC 19, 2008 Pours a deep cherry/mahogany colored body with a small but bubbly, light pink head. The aroma is sweet maraschino cherries and some light doughy yeast. The flavor is mostly grenadine with some almonds. The sweetness mellows out some after a few minutes.
Has a very smooth body, combined with a sweet and sour cherry palate, and a port wine finish.

I never actually knew Liefmans was responsible for the de Boomgaard line. Mild hints of cherry, really sugary, and for the most part falls into the "hey, another fruit beer line" thing. But fun. jredmond (8839) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 26, 2011
Sampled in london. What a treat. Pours a purple, red body with slight lacing. Aroma is extreme fruit - cherry and strawberry. Mouthfeel is thin to medium with fruity notes. Thats It. Surprised? crossovert (14128) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2011
12 oz green corked and caged bottle. 2007 vintage.
Pours into my pokal a nice clear, deep rose red with a white head that leaves gobs of lacing.
It smells like a lot of other Krieks, with a cherry explosion and not much else. There is no funk or sourness in the smell.
The taste is pure cherry, perhaps a bit sweet an watery. It is what it is, a refreshing beer that you can enjoy in summer.
Not a bad fruit beer but not outstanding.

375ml bottle 8/28/10 (Corner Cottage)-48° in Flute-Pours a clear dark ruby red with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of cherries and cardboard. Taste of cherries and sweetness. This light to medium bodied brew is easy drinking and something the wife is actually enjoying. savnac (2656) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - APR 9, 2010
375ml bottle. Pours clear dark ruby brown/red with a dense pinkish head that sticks to the glass. Aroma of tart pie cherries and not a lot else. Flavor is sour cherries right off the bat, then some sweetness comes in. Medium body, average carbonation and a long sweet and sour finish. Pretty good beer, a bit sweet and extract tasting though. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 6, 2010
Pours a golden yellow color. Aromas of cherry, breads, and a scattering of hops. Flavor is subdued cherry, not as bold as the aroma. Crisp dry finish.

Cidery sour cherry nose. Clear rust colored, no head. Nicely balanced sweet and tart cherry flavor, veering delightfully toward sour, but just a bit. Musty finish. Nicely done and good for a fruit beer, but not very distinctive. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 4, 2009
375ml bottle: Pours a transparent bright ruby red with a thin, spotty-lacing off-white head. Aroma has some medicinal cherry fruitiness and candy sweetness. Body starts slightly effervescent with lots of cherry sweetness and a decent tart balance before a sugary syrupy finish. Fairly drinkable, but could use some more complexity and body.
