4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aromas of wine and brown sugar malt. Deep brown with no head. Sour, but not as much as I was expecting from this beer. The back of the taste is complex with notes of deep malt, wine, and dark fruit. Medium bodied with a tart finish.
Copenhagen 18/1 2018. 33 cl bottle from Øl-handleren in Hørning. Simple label with small golden lady enjoying a cup of Liefmans. Pours clear maroon with off-white head. Settles as thin creamy layer of foam. Lacing on the side of the glass. Aroma has a little fruity sweetness which is soon overcome by strong sourness. Citrus, lemon, unripe sour berries. Acidic with a touch of sugar. Medium carbonation and water palate. Flavor is not as sour as I expected. Medium sweetness followed by strong sharp sourness. Aftertaste is sour and finish dry. Like a dry, creaky white wine - with a slightly sweet, more forgiving streak. Very nice middle of the road Sour Brown. Sergant (6) - - JAN 13, 2018 does not count
Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

Bottle during Sarkynorthener 5k and Faggot night cheers Martin; dark red/brown pour with a bubbly tan head, aroma has tart red fruits, taste has musty red fruits, slight sourness, ok. AssKicker (722) - Strasbourg, FRANCE - JAN 3, 2018
<3 beer-yum (1957) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 1, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 4, 2018 Restrained aroma in a black plum colored pour. Similarly laid back tart taste with a rich stone fruit body and deliciously lingering finish. A benchmark of the style - deservedly so.
