Infinitely complex in aroma and flavor with notes of maltiness and tartness throughout. An unsurpassed old brown with the richness and complexity of a vintage wine.

I REALLY liked this beer. I drank it at a nice cool temp. It has low carbonation, barely sour at all, more like tart... complex flavor, some brown sugar, black cherry, and almost a pinot noir wine flavor with a little sweetness. Smell was a little funky. It is medium thin on the palate with a nice long cherry aftertaste.

Goudenband, gouden bier. Best dus even laten liggen, dan top!

A true classic. “Made in open vats with beer of mixed fermentation, left to mature for four to 12 months in the cellar. Mature beer is then fortified with younger beer, so the fermentation process starts up again.” Excellent for storing. My example was a young one. Best before 2026! Brown with a low dense white head. Aroma of sour cherries, plums, leaves and hints of nuts. Vinous taste with the same notes in aroma. Delicate play between refreshing sour fruit and a mellow sweetness. Not so sweet as another personal favorite; Duchesse de Burgundy and with less acid than Rodenbach Gran Cru. The great thing about Guodenband is, in my opinion, the combination of intensity and elegance. Finish with a sweet-sour “take-a-new-sip” kick. Now I will look for more stored bottles.

Drank it in 2017 and this one was produced in 2017. I have the overall impression that this beer wast too young. Aroma is very woody with some caramel. In taste wood, caramel, slightly sour. Interesting palate, oaky, wry. Dry finish.

75cl bottle. Pours hazy dark red/brown with a small, foamy, tan head that disappears and leaves some lacing. The aroma contains apples, sour cherries, malt, wood, wine, some vinegar and caramel. It tastes medium sweet and medium to light sour, with a light ’woody’ bitter touch. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Almost no hint of 8% ABV. Indeed, complex in aroma and flavour, yet subdued.

SB beställning , flaska. Verkligen komplex arom. Vacker mörkt rödbrun färg.åldrade bigarråer och torka eller stålsmak. Vad det nu betyder. Lite aceton och doppelbock fladdrar till i tankarna. Fräck öl. Om det nu är en öl...
