This classy beer represents the perfect marriage between the fresh accents and slightly acidic flavour of the black cherries. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a mixed fermentation beer, with every hectolitre containing up to 13 kilos of fruit! Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a perfect blend of Oud Bruin and Goudenband from different vintages, and can consist of between 15 and 20 different batches of beers. The beer is matured for 18 months, bringing out the very best of its intense flavour. Liefmans Kriek-Brut is a deep reddish-brown colour, with a pale head and wood and almond notes. On the palette, you can clearly taste the slightly sweet, yet at the same time gently bitter fruit flavours. This is a beer that just oozes class…

2014 rating. Pours a fair amount of foamy pinkish head and has a amber appearance with ruby highlights. Aromas of fruits, cherries and sweet malts. Flavours of cherries, dark fruits, light notes of malts, some hints of figs in the finish. Very tarty and somewhat sour taste on the palate. Good stuff, very fruity and flavourful. Full bodied mouthfeel.

750 mL paper-wrapped (for some reason) bottle, 2015 vintage, shared by ebone1988. The pour is a darker red/brown ruby color with a thicker ring of gray-ish bone colored head and a couple spots of sucky and soapy lace. The aroma is interesting. There is a lot of sweetness to it. A nice cherry skin throughout, but it’s sweeter and almost sugary. A light cherry flesh brings up the back end. This is decent, but not anything close to sour. The flavor is syrupy sweet. There is a strong sweet cherry and maybe a hint of malt with a bit of metallic on the back end. This is not good. Super sweet cherry juice and a bit of metallic malt. The mouth feel is syrupy and more medium bodied with a soft carbonation and a lingering sweetness happening. I’m not crazy about this one. Ugh. 5 4 5 3 12

Bottle from Mega Bev. Bottle shared with koleminer20, for the book. 2015 vintage. Aroma is candied sour cherries, fruity but not jammy, woody, tart, typical for the style. Appearance is brownish red, light brownish red head, cloudy. Taste is very sweet, cherries, woody, tart, nutty, maybe a little too sweet. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, sugary cherry woody aftertaste. Overall, this is a touch too sweet for my liking.

Good acetic notes and tons of cherry, brown reddish with a good ocher head, light body, average carbonation, taste is similar, cherry is very intense but balanced...not bad.

Pours a hazy copper brown from the bottle with bubbly off-white head that leaves light lace. Aroma of mild funk and sweet cherry notes, a hint of barrel. Taste follows, fruity and slightly sweet, but a nice funk behind. Decent but more dessert than beer.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2018 750ml bottle from West Coast LRS Kerrisdale. Pours a red-ish copper with a tan head. Aroma is a bit balsamic with cherry notes. Similar taste with moderate sweetness, low sourness, chocolate and cherry notes. Interesting, but the sugary sweetness in this beer makes it similar to the mass market products.

Flesje gedeeld met Tomhendriksen. Roodbruin bier met rose schuim. Geur en smaak is zuur. Nasmaak is fruitig en toch zuur.

TomHendriksen (1250) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 10, 2018
Fles gedeeld door Inoven. Blended in 2015, 2 jaar gerijpt. Het is een donker roodbruin bier met een roze schuim. Het heeft een typische kersen geur. De smaak is zoet, kersen met een wat zurige nasmaak.
